PS waisted my 2000th post on that.

I was going to get one of these low level thingies after putting the body kit

on but opted for making a set of these from scrap wood from work.

Feel much safer when under the car.

Well i think i got one that i was looking at buying when i saw it in a shop that i was visiting when looking for nails which they didnt have at the time which lead me to think maybe i should just purchase the one i was looking at, turned out a friend in the shop who was looking at me looking at the jack got turned on by all the jacking and nailing so we just went to hers and shagged instead, turned out her dad had one anyway so i just stole it :D

oh them ones dont come on the shelves mate but i can find a special kinda bloke who will be happy to give you one :D

what you got? or what you thinking of getting? or what do you think you might think about getting but you havent quite got round to deciding whether youve thought hard enough about what to get and therefore cant choose? or what did you have? and stuff... etc...

recommendations

try this it works for me....use the std car jack from the sill once its up enough push under a 10 or 20 ton bottle jack to the centre jacking point ....effortless can jack it with one finger and it goes very high....i found trolly jacks move a lot and can pull sometimes rather than push owing to the angle of lift if you know what i mean

it's 1.25 tonne which i reckon is ok for lifting one side - not sure I'd trust it to lift the other side when one side was on stands though...

the 1.5 tonne michelin racing jobbie will be ok though aye? its never gonna be suspending the cars weight entirely on el jacko as a good proprtion of the weight distribution and load spread will be going through the axle stand and the wheels still on tut ground.

i agree you dont want to take risks and venture near max capacity but for all intents and purposes that 1.5 tonne michelin jobbie should be the nuts... feel free to shoot me down and air opinions if you think im a complete loser... oh and if you think im wrong!

yeah i hear what your saying... though i was just hoping to get out of the palava of pre-jacking to get the jack in as im lazy... i would imagine youd have to go quite high with the std jack to get a reasonable bottle jack in? also, i really detest using that sill jack unless i really have to :(

i think il go for something like this michelin jack and then look into getting a bottle jack to accompany it. as you said the way a normal trolley jack pulls itself along as it gets high is a pita and my drive doesnt let it roll smoothly. you got a link to the sort of bottle you use?

tbh i got a £20 trolly as well to jack high enough for the bottle avoids using the sill jack as you say....as to the bottle well its so old and knocked about all the markings and stickers are lost to the human eye :wack: but have a look here

I'm thinking about a set of these :- http://www.levo-artis.com/products-specs-prices.html but it's only got as far as the thinking and not the buying so far. Making my own is also an option if I feel like a bit of welding practice.

BEEJEZUS andy... 200 quid for a ramp! i think welding practice is the best option lol... or the ye old... shaped wooden planks and some wood glue!

Actually, I was thinking of the £600 drive up the ramp and jack the ends up jobbies ! Wanna go halves ?

Well there is a patent/copyright on the design, but something similar would be possible.
