just incase anyone cared -

1995 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Z:

Nissan, working with Steve Millen Sports Cars, produces a limited edition 25th Anniversary 300ZXTT, the SMZ. The cost of the SMX was about $57,000 ($14,000 more than a stock 300ZX Turbo).

Exterior modification on the SMZ include a tall rear wing, new front air dam, side skirts, rear facia, and ducted air cleaner panel (the body panel between the headlights). Inside the car, carbon fiber cladding was found on the door handle surrounds, center console, and gear shift knob. Razo aluminum pedals were added as well.

Engine modifications included a new intake manifold and air filter, a free flowing cat-back exhaust, and an extra 2-psi of boost. These changes resulted in 365 bhp @ 6500 rpm and 332 lb-ft torque @ 3500 rpm.

Yokohama AVS tires and wheels were specified (255/40ZR17s up front on 9-in. rims and 275/35ZR18s on 9.5-in. rims on the rear). Rounding out the suspensions upgrades were stiffer springs and larger anti-sway bars.

i thought there was a green one sold from keighly trade centre a while ago on a 95 plate. Infact someone on here has it althogh for the life of me i cant remember his news letter...

Infact were importance not looking at importing one at some point??

i dunno, ive read reports of them still costing the same as new at 2-3 even for yours old, thats quite something really, ive been looking for interior pics but cant find any.

over here in australia we have ausspec SMZ but come with far less mods then the US SMZ. The auspec SMZ's have all the Aero parts like front bar lip, nose panel, skirts and spoiler and ours are all NA's. But other then that they are as stock as any other 95 NA.

If I remember correctly It was RHD and therfore a fake. Not suprising comeing from Keighley.

The Keighley Trade Centre is my favorite place. He bent me over the desk

Called in there last week when I was passing and the guy looks so dodgy I didn't stay 5 minutes.

Most of the cars were overpriced rust buckets.

Never heard a good word about them in all the years they've been in business.

Only stopped because they had one of those mental modded japanese import vans out the front I just had to have a look at :D

thanks stellaz, i love the kit, wheels look good, exhausts suit, spoiler suits the weels.

but the interior looks shit, a mis-match of colours and the carbon fibre looks yellow

does the ausspec smz have the carbon interior?

unforeuntately not, the only things the auspec smzs get are the bodykit parts. no engine mods, no suspension mod, no carbon fiber interior additions just a standard 95 model with a stillen bodykit really.

Just reviving this thread as I believe I have just bought the green car sold by keighly...although on the logbook it says its a 1996 but it has a 1998 R reg plate ...it arrives at lunchtime today..will post some pictures

LHD U.S model only I believe

Not quote correct. The Australian market also got an SMZ, however being an Australian market supplied car, it was 2+2 NA only.

Welcome smudge :)

thanks for the welcome...ive had a z31 for a while that im restoring will post pics of that as well......just been getting into datsuns and nissans in the last 2 years...always been a ford man...until now!!

so i take it there were never any right hand drive smz made...surprised I would have thought nissan would have wanted a few for over in Japan!

Japan had their own tuning house upgrades from the likes of Tommy Kaira and Pentroof.

The SMZ Z32 was not a Nissan-supply vehicle although you could order through your Nissan dealership. It was a standard car that was taken to Stillen's workshop in California, re-engineered and then supplied back through the dealership networks - although I believe only a small number of 'select' dealers could supply these.

You also have the less-known SR-71 which, IMO, is a superior vehicle. Again, not a Nissan manufactured vehicle, but a monster built to take on the Callaway Corvette - another modified vehicle available though a very small number of select dealerships. It had considerably more power and looked better than the SMZ Z32 - but LHD also.

SMZ Z32 as mentioned above by myself was available in Australia, but only as a 2+2 NA (RHD obviously).
