I've noticed over the past week there are alot of people thinking of selling up their Zed due to the increase of money required for ownership. I'm just wondering whos going to keep the car or sell and run:confused: Yes, im struggling with things but i know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. May be a dim one but it's there!!!!:D

just get ya wallet out and give it to duffers, he'll sort it for ya, although he is very busy at the mo

I needed to break mine up 6 months ago, I have a big problem applying my logical thinking though :wack:

Keep thinking to myself -

cant afford the running costs, dont want to let it go, feel like filling it up and using the motorway as a runway, hopefully It will blow up and then I wont need to keep fueling it. I've now't on tonight? lol

I don't see the point in selling. At this point in time, I don't want to sell. If fuel prices and taxation gets to a stupid level then the cars are just going to become even more worthless than they already are anyway. I'd sooner just mothball it or sent it to a motor museum or something. Just makes no sense for me to sell mine. I may as well just store it somewhere as a piece of Japanese automotive art for the little I'd get for it.

Exactly - and longer term, there's going to be very few left with people breaking them left, right and centre, chavs blowing them up, and people scrapping the sheds - definitely going to be worth keeping good ones.

That's why I've kept mine all these years even though it's spent more time on the drive than on the road.

It's only going to get more rare to see one :)

I don't agree with government policy of keeping fuel prices high just to raise revenue.

I would support any fuel protests if I thought something positive would come of it; but typically, in this dictatorship of a country under Labour, it won't. Gordon the Grabber will just do as he pleases; just like Tony Bliar [yes I intentionally spelt it that way!] did before him.:xxx:

However I won't be selling my ZX as a result; or my daily driver, which is a 3.5 litre facing a possible £400 road tax bill in the near future:(

I guess I'll just have to keep paying and hope that one day soon I wake up and find I was having a terrible dream........:o

would sell the wife ...but not the kid's ....;)

...

I was going to sell mine, but due to the fuel prices its really going to hit the values and i would loose too much money. So i might just leave it sat on the drive doing not a lot most of the time instead.

Didn't think yours used any fuel though Marcus on reading your previous threads:x:

Strange result at then moment. I was expecting quite a few people saying they are selling. Just going on Ebay to auction my kid.......being end of the month and needing fuel!!! MMMMM, what next:x:

Fuel costs are not an issue on the "selling my car" subject with me. Whats the point in selling a car because its too juicey? Surely the market is going to be very small as the buyers will more than likely be thinking the same as you?

You would be far better off selling your house and moving to another country and taking the car with you.

nope it hasnt used much in the last 2 years lol

some people have no choice though, many people worked extra hard to buy and maintain a 300zx, it was like a overtime treat but what with fuel bills rising, mortgage payments rising, car tax rising, council tax, water rates rising and wages staying the same a lot of people do not have a choice. They are now working to survive as opposed to working to live, the overtime they now do is merely to cover the rising cost of living.

For many families/people they do not have a choice!

Got the Zed back on the road Fri,( after a third consecutive succesful MOT:rofl:), having been garaged since Sept, went to fill up... 70 fookin quid:shock: I'm sure last time it was fifty ish. At least with fuel you can choose wether to use it or not, its the poxy tax that gives me the 'ump, why should I pay for a road that i'm not using Mon-Fri ? Incidently, did'nt they build the road with my tax? Why then am I paying again to use it:confused:

seriously considering it, even though i love the car so much! Me and the missus are looking to buy a house and cut down on a lot of things. Looking at the biggest costs the zed is up there with the fuel prices, maintenance isnt that bad for me being an n/a, but tax and insurence is a big factor as well!

I filled my daily driver last week - the Shell garage had run out of regular unleaded so I had no choice but to use Vpower as the computer told me I only had 5 miles to go....:nelson:

It cost over £85........

How much longer before a fill-up reaches £100:rant:

How much longer before the British public actually act on their feelings and object? I am sure they would not stand for this on the continent. It seems in this country that people complain but never actually act and try and make a stand.
