After 18 months of ownership, and 6K spent on her, my love affair with the Zed is alas coming to an end....:cry:

She's had:

Cat 1 alarm fitted

DVD player fitted

Sparco hoses (250 miles ago)

Tein tie rods (250 miles ago)

Tein superstreet suspension (250 miles ago)

Tein EDFC (250 miles ago)

Apexi Induction kit (250 miles ago)

Greddy Turbo timer

Full respray (halcyon altantis is the colour)

New dash kit (brushed aluminium finish not fitted)

I blame the government and the oil companies for maintaining prices that are just completely unworkable for todays society. They may as well BAN the internal combustion engine altogether.

Nevermind....I'll be back...hopefully with a Silvia S15 spec - r aero.... so I'm not going to be gone for long.

Im in the same boat as Im sure many owners will. I can no longer afford the fuel bills forced on me.

Its unfair how the powers that be know our incomings are not rising but insist on upping our outgoings. We work bloody hard, why should we not be allowed an interest/ pleasure in life. Its what we work for ffs!!

I think its about time the British Public made a stand over the way we are being treated in this country.

I hope you dont end up selling her, not because of those robbing *******s anyway!!

its not the fuel cost fr me, its this infuriating running prob it keeps developing, i hate the fooker

I thought Duffer sorted it for you?

he did, but then it went back to running shite, he couldnt set it up on the consult as i needed parts, now i cant get hold of a consult to check everything

i detest it ATM, still im sure once i sort this and get some coilovers on i will start to love it again

get yourself to stockyard meet Andy can bring his consult lol!

I think that there is going to be some cheap motors about soon the way fuel is rising, not just Zeds but 4x4's, Jags and the like, especially if they keep escalating the the cost of Road Tax to rediculous levels. Make sure you remember whats happening and get these b@stard politicians onto the dole queue at the next general election.

I have been watching Jag XJR's over the past few months and their prices are falling very fast. I was planning to dump my zed and carlton and get one, but with Fuel rocketing so much I will just have to stick to what I have.

My Zed was my daily driver and i was filling up every weekend. I had to decide:-

a)keep it and be a bit skint or

b)sell up, free some cash up.

I found i avoided driving the Zed at weekends cause it had cost me £60-70 just to get to work and back.

So i sold up and now i am cash rich and have bought a motorbike! I couldnt find any fast cars with decent mpg and CBA running two cars cause i dont have the room to park ect.. Bikes are the way to go.

Its a shame, My zed is my daily drive as well, but it is a joke on fuel prices

need to make a stand, i think labour are already out but need to make a decision in this country if we are prepared to take a risk on something other than the tories, cos thats all it seems to be, we need to show them that it isnt a 2 horse race and they need to show us what they are going to contribute to the country and its residents to make it a place we all want to live and work and make into a stronger economic power, cos unfortunatly if we all fook off abroad and leave it to the immogrants they will bleed it till its dry then fook off back to where they came from, i fooking guarentee it!!!!!, we as a nation have made this country an econamic power and it seem to be slipping away!!!

Well you will be pleased to know I only get around 70- 80 miles out of a full tank if I drive it like I stole it so stop moaning:rofl:

Running mine in at the moment so not giving it large, but a full tank has done me for 180 miles. I think I'll be down at 100miles a tank once it's all run in.

What about when you drive it like you're driving miss daisy.....:D

Mine is a veritable diesel in comparison.... But it is disheartening when you put your foot down and can visibly see the petrol guage moving.....

Anyway, think I'll be getting a Silvia S15 Spec - R as a replacement.... slighlty better MPG, but still not great.

Wow - really?! I use mine as a daily driver and I tend to get 220 - 240 on a sorta full tank (around 60-odd quid, although that doesn't mean much these days and will probably be out of date by tomorrow...) and I thought that it was running a bit rich due to a recent boost leak! Maybe I should stop moaning that it's a bit heavy on fuel...

LOL If I drive it like Miss Daisy then those monster tubs dont spool and those 850cc injectors just dribble so I can get around 250-300miles per tank.:)

its the road tax over here thats a killer, the z is nearly 1,400euro per year, i also have a 91 camry diesel estate which runs on fresh air almost, tax on that is almost 1,000 euro a year but i now really only afford to tax 1 of them at a time which defeats the purpose of having the z as a weekend car,

atm the z is taxed for may, june, july, and the camry off the road, after 1st july over here any car over 1.6ltr brought into the country 2nd hand will be 2,000euro tax or higher based on emmissions

Yep Zed is high day car although we have two 2.5 pajeros as our week day cars and they like the juice! I'm thinking of making some biodiesel only way I can think to keep the costs down.

i know its bad all this fuel prices going up up up but i bet your still buying bottled water at over a pound (£1)per half litre....think about it:)

I ditched my diesel Focus in favour of the Z 2 years ago. I'm glad I did now after seeing it for sale around here for £1.29 per litre. I accept that luxury items don't come cheap, but OPEC are deliberately under-producing oil to keep their profits high. They have been asked why their prices are so high and they have cleverly blamed production costs. This prevents commissions from demanding that they step up production. It's a stalemate situation.
