Hi all,

Has anyone had any experience in ordering a large amount of goods from the Z1 site?

If so did you recieve any sort of discount or deals on postage.

Thanx

Give them a call they are pretty helpful on the phone, just make sure you tell them your calling from uk or they may put you on hold for a while:(

I am thinking of ordering some parts from across the pond - Old Zed did you get things sorted with Z1?

Hi K.

I would like to give a balanced view of Z1 which is quite opposite to what has been described above.

I have dealt with Z1 for many years and have, to this date, not had ANY problems with sourcing parts, shipping parts or returning faulty parts. Z1 is one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) Z32 parts supplier in the US and because of that they tend to get extremely busy. Unfortunately this may, in some extrenuating circumstances, result in less than examplary customer service (as experienced by Jimmer and Old_Zed). This is very unfortunate but by no means the rule.

Let me know if I can help in any way. I deal with Z1 on a regular basis and have an excellent working relationship with them.

Regards,

Dan

First off let me assure you that your last statement is simply incorrect. I'm not aware of the situation with your turbos but I'm afraid there may have been some miscommunication. We have no problem covering the shipping cost to get the center cartridge back for inspection. We have very few problems with our journal bearing turbos and absolutely no issues with our Garrett GTBB turbos like the GT675RS kits. Someone will be contacting you tomorrow to help resolve the problem. We have high regards for our UK customers and strongly value your buisness. Your satisfaction is very important to us. If anyone has any problems with Z1 product or service please PM me here and I'll see that it gets taken care of.

Little puzzled- cant pm as not member and no email on profile- how can anyone get in touch with him?

.....

Thanks Dan - thats awfully kind!

So far the UK traders I have used following recommendations from this site have all provided a top class service - always going above and beyond what i've requested - especially as regards honest and helpful advice to a Zed know-nothing like me.

Top marks to Dan, Smithy, Luke @ ZCentre and Paul @ SWZ all of whom I have used in the past (- I'm sure the others are all good too but havent had a chance to order anything off them yet!)

If you guys are looking for an alternative US parts supplier. Concept Z Peformance is the highest regarded Parts supplier, all Z enthusits should know about. I have ordered over $3k - $4ks worth of OEM parts from them in the last 8 months and i have never had any problems with them at all. As i use a 3rd party compnay to order parts from CZP for me i get Pricing on parts in AUD within a day of asking for prices and an order will always arrive at my door within 2 weeks. On both the aus300zx and 300zxclub forums CZP has always gotten 100% positive feedback from all members who post feedback and i would recommend them more then anyone else from the US.

Not really. They sent me a CHRA (a core) which was duly fitted. As above they requested that I sent the old core back which cost me £26 and said they would refund the postage. That was over a month ago and I heard nothing about the failed turbo or about the refund of the postage. In the end Jimmer spoke to Shawn and asked about it to which the response was 'oh yeah the core was covered' in otherwords an admission that it was faulty. They also said to let them know the cost of returning it. If Jimmer had not mentioned it, I do not think that they would have done either, and on top of that of course the engine had to be taken out to replace the faulty turbo. No mention of compensation there either. There are other US suppliers which I think are worth exploring both for discounts and better service.

I have heard that they are good too, I will certainly be giving them a go for future bits.

E mailed shawn and waiting for a reply.got a few jobs in the pipeline and who gets the buisness from the parts needed depends on the response.

ive had most of my parts from czp, good service and promt delivery, so top marks to them, cant really comment on Z1 as havent used them for much, but coz @ czp has always answered any emails ive sent and seems to be genuinely nice chap.

It is a shame about Z1Motorsport because they have a good website which is easy to navigate, but beyond that there is no 'backup'. Once they have your money you are on your own. They made a special effort to get me to return the faulty turbo core which failed after just 450 miles, supposedly to find out what went wrong with it but once it was back with Z1, no further contact even to repay my £26 return postage costs, and of course the cores sell for $480 so they needed it back to make MORE money. That is sadly all they are interested in, MONEY, your money. Another guy on here who bought Wiseco pistons from them received broken rings when delivered and they were packaged well so they were obviously not inspected before being shipped.

I've ordered a few big orders, they are very good and helpful.

Delivery times are very impressive also. Fantastic service.

Until something fails..........................then nothing.

I had some wheels bought for me, not from Z1, but from the USA, and I am having issues with them.

The initial saving pales into insignificance when something goes wrong and the company hides behind a few thousand miles of ocean. Its simply not worth the risk.

iv used z1 several times and have been most impressed... packing is good and shipping is speedy. though i never had a problem with the parts (touches wood)...

however, iv been enquiring about buying my next lot of goodies and have a query on something. i emailed them via the site contact mail system... no reply! so i send a message to the parts@z1 mail with my query... no reply... after sending my 3rd the other day with still no reply i cannot be assed with them!

they obviously dont want my money lol... czp will have to get the business instead. as said, it seems customer service isnt on the list of their priorities, they are happy to take the money if you send it, otherwise, forget it

That's interesting.

They have been a great help to me. I've asked for parts they don't list on their site which they have kindly sourced.

This is a good example of how helpful they were, i ordered some arp rod bolts at the same time of ordering the rods and they contact me saying that the Arp rod bolts did not work with the rods i had ordered. Also they adviced me on many parts i ordered which ended up changing the parts i had ordered.

They were very helpful and provided me with lots of information.

There has been some miscommunication and Shawn is contacting you to resolve any confusion. Shawn has been speaking with your son, and we are not sure the messages have all been relayed as we offered to pay for shipping but had been waiting on you all to send us the amount.

Sorry to hear about your problems getting a response. We went back through our e-mails and found only one unanswered e-mail you sent to us that was sent on July 4th. Because of the holiday weekend today is the first day we've been open since you sent the e-mail. You would have had a reply before noon our time today regardless. Not sure what happened to to the previous e-mails you sent but we don't show receipt of them. We are contacting you privately to try to figure out where they were sent and what happened. We take this kind of thing very seriously as we strive to answer all of the hundreds of e-mails we get on a daily basis during the work week.

Please use parts@300zx.com for e-mail correspondence for the quickest reponse. Of course we can also be reached by phone at 1-770-838-7777 (press 1 for the parts extension). We go to great lengths to make communication as easy as possible. If anyone ever has a problem getting a response please PM us here, as it may be a technical problem.

additional info

Ive not had any problems dealing with Z1, in fact in my order last year I messed up and and ordered red silicone couplers with 1 product and blue with the other and Z1 picked up on this and emailed me to ask if this was correct - good service imho

Just ordered $2600 worth of stuff from Z1. Ordered on the 7th and still shown as processing, with no sign of a shipping date.

Emailed them on the 8th asking for an update, as it states on there website they will send a tracking notice within 24 hours, which hasnt happened yet.

Im HOPING that something will happen today, i really need to get the car back on the road!

Glad you made it here buddy!

I have over the years ordered loads of stuff from Z1 and never had anything but good sevice and they will continue to be one of my main parts suppliers. I also use Mitch at AMZ performance who again i can only recomend as providing a good service.

Nick,

They process dozens and dozens of orders every day both from within the US and worldwide. If it is a large order (as yours seems to be) you should allow them some time to get everything together, packaged up, invoiced and shipped. Their tracking notice will be with you within 24 hours of the consignment havening LEFT their warehouse, not within 24 hours of you placing the order. I am sure you order is in good hands and will be with you shortly. If there are any problems they are definitely going to get in touch with you.
