Am i right in thinking if the fuel pump ecu is already bypassed, then it cant be the Fuel Pump ECU at fault?

so pump works when not on the car but when fitted it makes a noise but no fuel comes out....right? for my money it could be either the impeller (blades) inside the pump are not spinning or there is a block in the tank

....

I know this sounds really stupid, but there IS fuel in the tank is there?

Yep there is fuel in the tank. there is no noise from the pump whilst in car. it has been tested working out of the car but it does not work in it.

being logical here if the pump works when you run it out of the car (i assume) with a different lead powering it then do what aircraft electricians do when something doesnt work, simply run a new cable to the pump motor bypassing the old cable altogether

Back to the last question would the fact that My Fuel Pump Controller has had the Bypass method applied to it, rule it out of the equasion or as its the last item not tested be the primary culprit?

Correct mate :)

When i stripped out an old alarm system it was wired through this relay and i had to bridge the terminals in order to get it to work. Not hard to get at.

When i had to do the above, fitting new relays made no difference what so ever, i had to bridge the pins on the relay with a short piece of wire and re insert the relay. Only when i fitted another ECU 6 months later, did it work again without the wire inserted.

It all works like electrical sockets in a house ( a ring main) there's a feed from the ECU to that relay and inside the ECU is 1 small part that powers that feed.

You can blow this feed and you won't get any error codes. It's worth trying another ECU from Jap/UK or Auto/Manual just to see if it starts.

You got nowt to loose!

Thats what I was thinking smithy, just need to get hold of a spare ECU.

Anybody got one lying round as a tester? There is one on ebay but ill have to wait 4 days for it to finish.

With SWZ not being far from you, sure they will lend you one just to see if it works and if does, buy it of them ?

If you contact Jeff (Zedworld), he will probably post one down on a sale or return basis, but you will have to pay the postage.

i had a same sort of problem with mine it was blowing the fuel pump fuse and i tested the pump and it was fine on its own long story but found out it was the ecu

it always seems the last thing thats checked LOL always seems the case with me. Fingers crossed a new Fuel Pump ECU is the answer.

Just to confirm mate, it's not the fuel pump ECU am talking about, it's the actual ECU unit itself. There is a part of it's workings which loops the power feed to all other fuel pump components.

I have a spare ECU is the garage so i will try that. Hope its not as the spare is a superchips one lol

you coming to Z008? I have spare seat if you want too, as for your car, i want to pop around and see it... i swear it is something simple it doesn't sound that serious a problem. Fuses or PTU maybe?

No not going to z008 as i busy that weekend. your welcome to pop over anytime to look at it, though you may want to bring a cloth and some water as she is looking real sorry for herself lol

Mine is working now but im not sure what the reason was as I went out swapped over several componants, cleaned every connector and re-did the ignition wiring.

I think yours is alarm related, where mine wasnt. If you need to get somewhere just run a direct feed to the fuel pump as a temp measure
