Put some of the trim back in my car today and sound deadened the rear quarters and transmission tunnel. Also ran an RCA cable down one side of the car, have to run a power cable the other side too for the amp at some point. Never been into ICE installs and I'm still not hugely, but I'd like a nice quality of sound. Sound deadening everything and running new cables should improve it a little. With a new headunit, amp and sub, it should sound ok.

For some reason, someone replaced one of the Bose speakers in one of the doors, but ran new cables and an aftermarket speaker in the other side. This shouldn't be too much of a problem, as I can tie new cable to the old stuff and pull it through the rubber cable router in the door. The drivers side is a little more difficult. The Bose speaker is there, or rather removed, I want to run a cable through the door, then through the rubber cable router. Has anyone tried running a cable through one of these? How tightly packed are they? Anyone been successful with it? Any tips would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Did you take the door rubber out of the door and off the pillar or did you do it in-situ?

Done many times. Total PITA to get it through the rubber. Easier if you pull the rubber out of both the door and sill and feel it through bit by bit. There is room in there for the cable its just very fiddly getting it through.

New cables are worth doing though as the old stuff is so thin.

Might be worth me getting an old coat hanger, get a straight bit and poke that down, tie it to the cable and pulling it throught that way.

might work.... but as its so tight, it might make you struggle even more... try it, whats the worst that can happen! :smw:

You slip while tugging on the Coat hanger and it goes straight through your eye ?
