Does the 300zx Club do anything at the NEC CLassic Show?

Or has anyone here ever shown their car?

I assume they rate as a classic?

You are joking mate - the british classic fraternity would rather rot in hell before agreeing that the Z32 could ever be considered a classic - just my thoughts on the matter.

nope its not classed as a classic.

1. not officially old enough (used to be 25 years iirc)

2. not quite rare enough

3. they can't accept the beauty of the Z :D

Hi,

The Z Club used to have a stand at the NEC show and I even had my Z31 Turbo on the stand a few years ago!

The Z Club don't do indoor shows any more however and it is a three/four day commitment now if your car is on a display.

The MR2 owners club and other Japanese marques do have stands at the NEC show, so there's no reason that the 300zx club couldn't.

Cheerz,

Jez.

The cost of having a putting together a stand there now is high as the organisers started asking for backdrops to the stands and as Jezz says it is a four day commitment

The Z Club has also had a Z32 on the stand a couple of times but we stopped doing the show when it changed from a two day show to a three day show and they wanted backdrops etc

Well, the Capri 280 was a modern classic around 13-13 years of age.

I have shown mine at NEC. I hired 2 stands last year at 375 a slot.

I guess if there was enough energy it could be done. There's no-one to tell you that you can't show your Zed - it qualifies in terms of age I think.

Hasn't got to be a Club thing but it helps if there's an official stand.

Up there on Friday - will have a gander.

This is an event that we would not touch as a club. although the Z32 is getting on a bit now, it still fits in much better with Jap car shows only.

We don't go to any of those either tho

Agreed that this year has been very poor with club stands at shows etc, but Next year will be 100% better.

I've just got back.....

......I have to say it was pretty good, we were also alowed free entry into the static part of the MPH show. There were some fine machines in there, including a lovely blue and black Veyron. I'd not seen one in the flesh before

Some pleasant looking females on the stands as well - always a bonus :hyper:

As for the 300zx, it would not have been out of place if they were represented in the classic section. After all the Mk3 Supra lot had a small stand, along with a few MR2s, MX5s and the Classic Z Register.....

Richard :smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

plus the 350z race car was there. i missed the veyron and the mk3 supras

there was to much really to see in one day. Well there was for me as i had to get home :(

bloody good day out tho. recomend to anyone :D

Went along as a visitor and not an Exhibitor this year. It was nice to get around all the trade stands, tools and gadgets which I normally miss.

Usual high class displays of cars from many decades and at least 2 centuries.

Not much Jap stuff, a few Toyotas, a 350Z, no Zeds as such.

A great place to go if you have bucks to spend as many classics are for sale.

5 halls filled with desirable stuff, although less people there on Friday I fancy this year.

A 300zx stand would definately be a good attraction at the show - most people I meet haven't got a clue what my car is - so they've been anonymous for too long it seems.

Maybe club chair can consider this an an option for 2008?
