I only went out for a spin and came back with a Zed - what's happening to me??

It's not my fault - I have been a Ford Capri person for 20 years. Never a Jap car - then this mate of mine went and sold his Capri 280 and got a Zed.

Huh! I said. He'll be back for another 280. Then I saw his Zed and the doubts started coming thick and fast. No problem says I - this is something I can handle. Won't get to me I thought.

So I find myself Googling 300zx instead of Capri - and all these visions appeared and forums and it all got too much.

I even joined this forum, just browsing you understand. I mean who wants to be a member of the Worlds Biggest Youth Club I told myself. It's not decent, it's not right. Is it?

So there it was - a 1994, 55k miler - silver - with 19's on - tinted glass and black leather - nothing wrong with 'loooking' is there?

Well, a spin in it won't hurt anyone either?

Hmm, no bad points - very driveable, very reflective in the windows in town - maybe it's worth it. Afterall it is a £35,000 car at some point in the distant past. A lot of bang for little buck. No grief from the wife. It's a sign, it's a sign says I.

Bottom line - collecting it in a week or so and looking foward to the drive back down the M6 (well not really but there's no other option than the M6).

Piccies to follow.

Any tips on good insurers please?

How mad am I? :confused:PICS ADDED see page 4

Welcome :D

So what sort of Zed did you get - TT, NA, Manual, Auto, LWB, SWB.... ?

TT, Auto - LWB - all the things I said I'd never have, you know what I mean?

Looks like Takemetothepub - just diffeent wheels. MotorMania 19's 5 spokes. Not sure if I'll keep even though they only 5 months old. May put them up on this site - let's see.

cheers Chris

sorry in first post meant to say Googling not goggling - coz that's plain stupid!!

Well you are plain stupid  I mean fancy likeing fords for so long

You have the right colour Zed though, silver just rocks when its in top form, and 19s just about the right size to fill the arches.

Well done and welcome, you will find that smile button in the middle of your back that the crapi just can't quite reach.

Anyone know where I can get remoulds for the Zed? Gotta start saving costs now for the underside neon lighting.................................

Remoulds? Are you mad?

You really shouldn't compromise safety in a 300. Proper tyres are best, and well worth the extra few quid for peace of mind and safety.

Gotta start saving costs now for the underside neon lighting.................................

LOL :slap: Welcome Chris - hope your new Zed is a goodun

congratulations on your purchase but the car becomes an obsession, a big friendly family and tears when you notice that you can now close your wallet and do up the clip as you have no money left!!!!!

Yes it's a goodun - as far as I could tell. There's an adage that goes, 'Never buy the first one you see'.

Well, I laugh in the face of danger - (then go away and hide)

I bought the first one. The guy seems 100% genuine. He's an honest Armenian carpet seller by the name of Asif. Just kidding - he doesn't sell carpets!

The car is gorgeous and needs one or two little areas perfected which'll take one day. Not bad for 14 years old.

I'll be nagging for some ideas shortly once I've collected it.

Is there an Insurance thread running anywhere here? Briskoda used to have such a thing. Oh yeah I got a Skoda Octy vRS too. Oh, and a South African Capri V8 Perana. Trying to win the local Conservative Green Vote in my area.............

ps we do recycle all our banana skins and tea bags - it's a balancing act I susppose - give a little take a little
