Passed my Cisco Certified Network Professional last exam!

Hope everyone doesn't mind me broadcasting it but I've just passed the last exam I need for my CCNP. I got just under 99% as well (988/1000). So chuffed to finish on a high note. I've been utterly working my t*ts off for 18mths now to do this in a sensible time, and another 6mths before that for my CCNA and MCSA so 2 yrs really. I can honestly say that in all that time I've never gone longer than a couple of days without opening a book or doing some lab practice. I've been taking on so much work to build my experience up and have always been up to my eyeballs in my job and have then been spending the rest of the day/night studying. My CV is looking pretty awesome now so I'm waiting to see how much extra wonga I get offered in my current job and then will probably shop around a bit. I need to make the effort pay off to finance all the Zeds and the Rex I've had over the last few years :wack: I'm going to rest for a few weeks now and then look at some more security specific stuff.

I've got a bottle of champers! going to get trashed with the lady lol!

Nice one Dave - that's superb, I had a look at some of that Cisco stuff on a recent client site (I'm a software developer by trade) with a view to configuring a VPN; and it looked like something best left to experts!! So my hat's off to you!!

Enjoy your champers - lovely evening for it!!

CheerZ,

JB.

You clever git, well done you must be well chuffed. Wish I was dedicated to do something like that, I'm just bloody lazy thats my problem.

Congratualtions Dave! Made up for you as I remember telling me how much you've been busting your balls and using up nearly all your spare time to get this! Have to go out on the lash and celebrate next time your down in Cornwall! :duffer: :duffer:

Congrats fella....Time to post the CV on teh contract market if you fancy a pay rise....

nice one :)

no taking a few days off between book and lab sessions if you want to hit CCIE ;)

congrats though, hard work but a worthwhile exam, I would recommend taking a look at some foundry and juniper devices atm though, skills are pretty much transferable across, especially as foundry have copied the CLI of cisco. quite a few of the big players are swinging that way from cisco

if your employer has paid for your training though you should at least give them some time extra FOC for the treat, also check your employment contracts as you may have to pay back training if you leave too soon

well done though,

Everything has been off my own back, and in my own time mate! . Not a single minute has been payed for by my employer. The only thing they have payed for is the exam costs; so long as I pass them!

Nice one mate, one of the best things you can do IMO. Really starts to open things up.
