Having a problem with my dash lights and rear lights, in that neither work!

Iv narrowed it down to a earthing problem (i think) as i have checked all the fuses and changed the headlight pod and still no joy....

When i turn the lights on the front lights work, but the air con temp lights do not dim, none of the dash or auto box lights come on and neither do the rear lights.

if anyone had any better ideas as to what it could be then im open to ideas, but i think its an earth coming off the light pod that is the problem..

So, has anyone got any ideas as to what wire i need to re-earth?

sounds like it could possibly be a short on the printed circuit board mate. Try testing it

i think it is one of the wires coming off the plug that is the problem as i have tried another pod and had the same problem...

I'm pretty sure bigmincey has a similar problem a couple of months ago, might be worth a pm or check through the threads started by bigmincey. I think it turned out to be his ignition barrel but i could be wrong.

found it if it helps.

2nd row of fuses at the gas pedal, 3rd one in, 10amp.

Pulled every fuse and they all looked ok, put them all back in, same problem.

Replaced every fuse with a new one, and hey presto, success.

Although the fuse wasnt blown, it must have had a crack or something wrong inside, coz after a test with the meter and a test lamp, stil no current going through it ! Looks ok as well ?

Still, that passed a weekend, eh ?

Fixed it! pulled all my dash apart and disconnected everything replaced the fuse and she didn't blow, slowly reconnected everything and found a lead going to the stereo was the problem!
