Thought it was a party seven, was gonna say it won't stay cool next to the lump :D

It's gonna be tough to shut the bonnet with it there!! :D

Throttle bodies?

Very observant Si, 10 out of 10. You win a ham sandwich (not as random as you might think as I'm currently eating...ahhhh...you've guessed it! ;)).

Custom made parts have finally started arriving so we've been steaming ahead recently. Damn good progress since we only get chance to work on 'em about twice a month...three times if we're lucky!

Leigh.

Cool! Stand alone management then....more than likely designed and built by John himself!

That WILL sound amazing when done. TBs make even a 4 banger sound good. Unfortunately never really increases engines much in the way of torque, but BHP fingers should rise substantially. Saying that, not sure how V8s respond to TBs.

So all that gear is custom? Excellent stuff. Interested to see what sized trumpets you'll be using.

Yup, all custom...with a price tag to match. Ouch. :( ;) Emerald M3DK management will be running the show.

The ITB throttle setup will have a big difference on Power and torque as the stock intake plenum would have been a serious restriction in the system. A 5.0 NA setup with a planned 100-120 hp per litre

It wont have open trumpets. Dual Intake runners feeding opposite banks to the air filter, I think John has put pics up of the design before.

Cheers for the comments all.

You're right, that is the dry sump oil tank. It'll be mounted in the boot, LHS right at the back, big hole with the tank 1/2 in and 1/2 underneath the car.

The ITB's are necessary on this setup not just for the fact that the pulse tuning of the stock set up is all wrong and the pipework too small but also because with the duration of the cams I'm running it would never idle properly on a plenum.

Air box design now is probably going to be one big box over the top of the whole lot extending as far out to the edges as possible. That gives the biggest possible range of options for intake length right from a 10mm trumpet directly on to the body right up to about 30" using internal crossover runners with the trumpet on the end. Will just experiment on the dyno then see what works best. It also leaves room in the future to possibly add a variable length system with sliding tubes and linear motors but will leave that for now as it's going to be pretty complex and expensive to engineer.

Nice to see it coming together at last John and Leigh of course. Has Leon dropped out again because he was trying to sell me my old SWB back again.

This looks great John. Just look at how well the M3's engine performs with 6 TB's. That's going to be so responsive and driveable - like you wanted.

Amazing work is all i can say. This is a zed to look for. Cant wait to see it running!!

Don't think so although he's not planning to do his for a while yet. Think he wants to get the buggys and stuff finished off first.
