No not yet fella but will carry this out b4 the engine is pulled!

Car ran 346 bhp and 365 torque and been told engine must be in good shape to get these figures.

Not worried about fitting new pistons and rings etc but as you know i do not use the car that often and it would prob take me ages to run in :headvswal

or remove the exhaust fill it with petrolium and burn it out , might reduce the smoke for a while dave

Sod that Greg probably melt the thing knowing my luck :x:

So thicker oil wont do the trick then??

Off to goodwood in a few weeks and have to do some little jobs like turn the discs around [cheers pj] and doing a oil filter change . I know waste of money seeing the engine will be pulled but really would like to reduce this smoke if i can!!!!

it may do dave, if its thicker, theory is less chance off as much passing the seals

use 10-60 and drive steady not to many long journeys :duffer:

Think oil would make a difference, as soon as I do an oil change (Castrol RS 10/60) it smokes badly, after a thousand miles or so, it completely stops. Been told to use a thicker oil, my mechanic (has a Z) always uses Nissan oil so I'll be trying that next :)

Fair one, can't see it being that powerful if there are piston/ring problems. I only mentioned it because I had the same issue with my first one. Its such a bugger that doing the turbos on a zed are so much hassle. I really like your Zed, one of my favourite ones. Let me have it if you want :smw: :D

are you using fully or semi synthetic mate.

by the way i only pointed out the discs were the wrong way round LOL

well iv always used castrol rs 10-60 or millers cs 10-60

some say its not suitable but iv used it and IIRC mac uses it so cant be to bad eh

my z always started and sounded like new so did something right

How does a compression test tell you whether the turbos are ok or not Lol  :D

I tried nicotein patches but the exhaust just kept blowing them out :headvswal

try the 10mg ones then they produce more backpressure :D

If you have removed the main cats, put them back.

This will reduce the smoke significantly.

if you still have the cats installed I don't think there's not much else you can do other then to replace the turbos.
