Has anyone removed the cloth stuff under the bonnet? Think it's for keeping the heat away from the paint work but not sure, mine cloth is a mess and would like to remove it but don't want my paint to come off aswell :nono: .

Cheers in advance

Have seen a fair few zeds with it removed without paint problems.

Its more for Sound insulation.

Yeah it's just sound deadening material so you can get rid of it if you don't mind it being a bit more noisy.

More noise can only be a good thing!

And it will get a bit more steamy on a wet day as the bonnet temp increases slightly. No paint damage here either though

have run without mine for 3 yrs now.. no paint damage (and mine is thin!!) and the look on peoples faces when you pull up in the rain and the raindrops are steaming off your bonnet is well funny..

Is it definitely just cloth then?

Remember someone telling me once they're asbestos
