Guys need some help,

 

I am looking for a s/s exhaust for my LWB TT zed, I need the exhaust to sitting at my house in 2 weeks time as it needs to be done before the MOT. I have looked high and low but keeping finding the mongoose which I don't like.

 

I am also thinking of have a single exit. i.e. 2 pipes in to 1. but don't know if this causes any restrictions as I was planing 3" back from the merge point and 2.5" elbows and decats.

 

Anyone know where I can get one quickly and most importantly not going to break the bank (have other goodies i want to buy)

Have you tried Powerflow, that's what I've got on mine and it's sounds amazing. Well made full s/s system.They make it the way you want it.

I have had a powerflow in the past and it was not the best and corroded quite badly (poor workmanship). I really need a pre-build exhaust as I am away at the moment and I won't have time to go to a custom builder.

There are plenty of exhaust specialists out there that will custom fit one on your car. Check Yellow pages for nearest. Drop car off, pick up next day.

 

What is it you dont like about the mongoose...there are 2 styles. one with twin 4" ovals, and the original with 2.5" quad tips.

I have a custom made single exit system, for a LWB TT,that's about to go on sale (haven't had chance to take some photos yet). It's the one Leon at Alunox (top quality exhaust/manifold fabricator who deals with lots of race teams) used as the base for his single exit systems (had by John Dixon etc etc on here) as it was so incredibly well designed and put together and had an unbelievable exhaust note! Mines spot on and it does the job very well. You must have been unlucky and had one made by someone who didn't know how to do the job right.

That is the same as mine (cheers Slick Pete) but larger 4 x 6 (with the looks of it) tips, although I can vouch for shit quality, not the pipes or anything but the pigeon shit welds, got them re done and sorted, nice, not too loud, I like it

anyone rate the borla exhausts? never heard of them myself.

I've had Powerflow before on a previous car. I don't rate them in the slightest I'm afraid, nor the other Powerflow systems I've seen. The materials they use are of very poor quality and the main pipework is not 304 Stainless, it's some cheap mongrel metal that corrodes. Welds are not stainless either.

The yanks do. Quite popular in the states.

Think it must be what garages you go to with powerflow then because I had one on my last car (v6 mx-3) and it was superb. I had the car for 4 years and the exhaust was still looking spot on when I sold it!!

I know they make a good replacement system for the 350z - you may want to try searching over on their forum for a report on quality... http://www.350zuk.com.

Veilside Evolution. Can't buy them anymore, some £1,600 new. Sometimes they pop up occasionally on ebay and on here. Fantastic exhaust and makes the nicest burble ever!

I take it the full system is stainless and not aluminiumise steel? I saw somewhere selling them as well.

No, the Veilside system is of very high quality and uses TG304 throughout. Welds are stop on. Very well built system.

Have a look on ebay. Search under 300zx exhaust and there is an HKS Super Drager single exit exhaust for buy it now £180. You may even get it cheaper as no one has bid yet.

Thanks for the tip but since the pipe behind the back box is not stainless I will give it a miss as I live in the north the exhaust will be rotten after the first winter.

 

Last question which is bett the x or h pipe?
