after 4 months of no sleep waiting on the car arriving from japan its now finally road legal,

and i'm tempted to sell it already as it really isnt a road car,to do 30mph you have to sit in 2nd or it jumps along the road, the clutch(os giken triple plate) really is an on off switch,

i dont care if i sound like a pussy but it really is just too fast :o

every gear once you hit 4k the world warps around you and you go deaf as the screamer pipes engage :smash:

its just far too extreme to use as a fast road car 100mph+ is instant, theres no playing with scoobs or anything anymore even pulled away from a gallardo without too much effort(which was when it sunk in,what if there was a police car sitting at the side of the road,at the speeds this thing does the ban isnt the worrying thing)tom tom gps seen 198mph(on a private road of course)and still pulling,

4th and 5th gear feel more like 2nd and 3rd in my old zed running 1.2 bar,

its evil i tell you,lol :wack:

i cant afford to keep a track car like this

so what do i do?

a very much still shaking Paul.

sounds great to me, hopefully mine will be similar (without the drivability issues!)

make a block to go under the accelerator, so its not possible to floor it.... Sensible (ish) road car....

Track time, remove said block and call an ambulance :)

Maybe that idea only works in my ruined head after work...!

Jesus paul!!

Its lived up to your expectations and more then :)

I remember the last phone call we had and thought that was the last of it but seems the seed was sown. That doesnt look like the same car that i saw before?! Looks like a fresh respray and those wheels are to die for.

If you fancy swapping it for mine which is being fully rebuilt but "NOT" to your spec then give me a shout as its owing me near yours now :(

Id say get it mapped and see if you can do the 2-3 settings on it so you have road use and warp speed settings.

thats the bit i'm still trying to get my head around,as you said its what i always wanted but now i have it i dont really want it,maybe that will change but i'm not in a position to have a 10k track car(although i wish i was, lol)

Paul.

It's a dilema that many on here would be happy to have! :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal

I'm sure after you have the mapping sorted and have had chance to drive it around a bit more you will come to love it.

Good luck and take it easy! :smash:

You gotta race S13Girly in her Mitsubishi 3000 before you sell it!

She was so sure she was going to beat you. Maybe she will.

What kind of power is it putting out?

Yuo big girl  LOL

Had a few chats with Paul this week, usually after each road kill, bike or car :D and she certainly seems one seriously fast Zed with the ability to out corner a scalextric car !

IF he decides to sell, this is pretty much a "ten of best" ready car which will do really well in the top speed and handling section especially :) I guess it's just a case of how big are yer balls

smithy

I cant beleive im saying this.

if its for sale.....

man iv gotta have a go in this machine! how does this fair up to the likes of mac1's car? Kirbz has bought in a rabid animal!

LOL

Well i guess we all have thought about putting decent power into a slicktop as its technically the best model to do it in but no one has ever done it.

The car itself has alot more on it that we originally thought ;)

When i bought it i knew it was meant to be around a 600 rwhp car and had a very impressive engine spec ie cams, 3.2 ltr, td05 turbos etc but it was a nice suprise to find out it had the brakes well sorted with alcons and the suspension is ohlins which again is about the best money can buy!! its also got ARC adjustable roll bars front and back and tein ajustable arms as well ;) So it does handle like its on rails.

Be interesting to see how it fairs on the 1/4 mile strip

With regards to macs car, until mac sorts his fueling out etc its porbably running more power and about 400kg lighter so you do the sums

Macs car is having the work done at this very moment and you can do your sums when my project is complete. :x: :)

well i did say until you get the fueling sorted ;)

even then with the weight difference it would be "interesting" ;)

I noticed you are saying there is a 400kg differance sometimes your maths are way out it would be no where near that even if you were sat in my boot after you just ate 10 KFC family buckets lmao. I took my car on a weigh bridge with half a tank of fuel to set up the Blitz ID meter and you would be shocked at how little extra weight it is from a stock 2+2 :)

Macca,

I hate being drawn into who's faster than who, but how much did yours weigh? I'm guessing around 1650kg? Only asking as there's not much real data around with actual weights rather than dry weights quoted in magazines

PS when will the fuel pump work be finished :)

I'll have you know i'm on a diet

and i dont like KFC

My 2+2 was about 1700 kg's but that was with 30kg's worth of ice in there.

The slicktop when weighed coming in from japan was 1300 kg hence the 400kg difference so unless your telling me yours weighs less than 1700 ish then 400 i would guess is about right ;)

its all them heavy seats, glass targas and extra under body strength :)

Mike

IIRC the legend Steve (Stillen) in the USA ran both swb and lwb in competitions...said the lwb was the better handling car all round

i think the weight distribution is better on the LWB hence why it handles better in standard form ;)

Me too but you can bet your life my car always comes up in these conversations and I dont even have to post. How the bloody hell did you guess that ?

With half a tank of fuel and me it was 1650kg two weeks later I tried another bridge and it was 1649kg thats with stock seats spare wheel full interior etc so there is plenty room to shed a few more pounds as the Kevlar seat weighs 3kg the new tailgate with perspex window and removing most of the interior will be a big saving and also could be changing the driver from over 100kg to 60kg;)

Hope to have her back all singing and dancing next weekend fingers crossed

PS how you getting along with yours James is she almost there?
