Does any1 else hate the fact that their car has a high mileage?

i know its mostly psychological and mileage is relative to how well the car has been looked after but theres always sumthing in the back of my head saying 'STOP throwing money at this car and buy a lower mileage one'!

just thought id see if any1 else shared my concerns :)

never has bothered me having a high mileage car. and 123000 miles in 15yrs ain't really that much. how many bmw's, audi's etc cover that in 3 yrs!!

Im my opinion even the claimed "low mile" cars have 100k miles + on them.

Ignore what your odomiter says, zeds are far too easy to clock.

This might make you feel better, my old man sold a Sprinter last year with 258k on the clock!!!!

We nicknamed it 'The Enterprise' :D

i share you pain fella :x:

mine is a 1990 done 93000 miles now really dont want to drvie it much cos its gonna pass the 100k mark, but there again i have changed every part in it nearly 100k is nothing, its all phsycological

I hate it too, its 109000km which i know is only about 70k miles but i hate that it says 109000 down there!

140K plus miles and counting! One transmission a few k miles back, and one siezed turbo last year. All fixed, changed both, and going strong again better than ever!

think yourself lucky its a japanese engine and not a Ford, if it was it would have long perished

My BMW 525 se tourer has about 220,000 and going strong! I love telling people who have cr*ppy fords that die before 150k. I want to reach 300k!

my 1993 uk tt has full history and its done 126k, me dads 1993 e36 320 has done 193k and still goin strong PLUS he drove it back to newcastle from brighton last year with only 2 litres of oil left in it and runnin on 5 cylinders coz an electrode had burnt out on 1 of the plugs, sounded like a bag of hammers, one oil + plug change later it was quiter than me gf's e36 328 which has done 105k! a couldnt beleive it! it sounded like the bottom end was about to fall out!

i STILL RUN A SPRINTER VAN AND THE MILAGE RIGHT NOW IS 378536 SO WHAT WOULD YOU CALL THIS VAN LOL :hyper: :hyper: AND TO TOP IT OFF IT STILL RUNS ORIGANAL TUBS, NOT BAD HEY WISH I COULD SAY THE SAME FOR MY ZED TUBS :(

My Z has done 175k at the mo lol

I had a Ford which got to 68k before blowing up, then I went on to German cars. VW 100k no probs, Audi 130k no probs and a BMW that was still going strong after 150k.

so how long can the z32 tt lump last before it needs a rebuild? as long as its serviced regularly obviously, what would be the recommended mileage?

LOL!!!!

Yep! I'v been thinking the exact same thing... Money pit!!!!

My Zed has 150K...Stock... With orginal tubs...

Needs syncro sorting and diff bearing is a bit winy... No doubt the tubs will need sorting at some point in the future,(Hopefully not this year at least) but hey thats Zed life it seems. Am prepared to pay (And more importantly CAN afford to pay) if it breaks.

But other than the odd sqeak / door rattle, so far so good.

Drives well, pulls hard when asked.

Nice!:D
