I am in the process of doing Zed research with a view to buying. The MPG situation however has me confused.

I am looking fot a TT but peoples claimed mpg seem to vary enormously, from 13 - 25 combined.

Can anyone tell me their calculated mpg over a good length of time for a stock engine.

I currently get 30 in the bmw and i have a figure in my mind, below which i just cant do it, My fingers are crossed.

You'll get about 25mpg on the motorway and somewhere between 13 to 20 round town depending how you drive.

It does vary depending on level of tune and use.

A stock TT driven gently on the motorway can do 30mpg.

A tuned one driven hard round town will do 10-12mpg.

i dont know what the mpg is, but i managed to get 350 miles out of a full tank of petrol, all of which were motorway miles, sticking between 70 and 80 mph

Mine was stock and i didn't get anywhere near 30mpg, mind you mine was an auto.

Most i ever saw in stock tune was 26/27mpg driving off boost

I roughly get 50miles from 10 quid on the motorway and 25 around town

That's about 21 / 10.5 mpg I think.

I can get mine down to 4mpg with a heavy right foot and full boost around town

craig you obviously know the sums, im crap at maths. if i manage to get 160 miles out of 17 litres of fuel, whats the mpg?

agree, exactly what i get!

I get around 15-20 mpg around town with a little hard driving in between and around 25 on motorway around 80-100mph I put in £25 and do about 110-115 mpg im driving a 91 auto tt...

17 litres = 3.74 gal (divide by 4.55)

160 miles divided by 3.74 gal = 42.8mpg!

That can't be a 300ZX is it?

I would like to add to all the reply's buy saying if MPG is a factor in your performance car prerequisites then you are not really ready to be looking at a serious performance car.

That is unless you have £50K to £60K to start spending on the new generation performance cars or high performance Desiels. I say everytime I get behind the wheel that I'm not going to boot it, but since I put her back on the road after its winter break I only seem to be able to manage around 220 mile's per tank. However the smile on my face has been about 450 smiles long per tank.

nope thats the fireblade

Wow, I wish I:

1) Could ride a bike with anything vaguely like skill

2) Wouldn't kill myself in about 5mins

Makes so much more sense than cars. Fast as fook for brandnew ,the fastest beast on the road and low maintainance costs.

My thoughts too :D

If you are worried about fuel economy, then a 3 litre twin turbo monster petrol engined car should not be on your list.

Richard :x:

PS my average runs at 19mpg; I have seen 25mpg (just) on a long m-way run at 90-100mph but never any more than that.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Firstly welcome to the nuthouse buddy.

I get about 200 miles to a tank. Around 50 quids worth.

Don't know what that equates too so perhaps someone can tell me.

Thats driving town and motorway.

Hope you find a good one if you go down this route.

Yawn.......Yes welcome mate. As already mentioned above, if fuel economy is an issue then I don't think this is the motor for you I'm sorry to say :(

£50 would be about 52.6 litres (@95p/l)

52.6l=11.6gal

200/11.6= 17.3mpg

Hate it when people say this, hows the guy gonna know if fuel will be an issue unless he asks what the consumption is??

Oh and sausagefingaz

"Welcome to the madhouse! Were all bonkers we are!"

Your right he's not gonna know, so thats why I'm advising him if he's worried about fuel economy he shouldn't really be considering a 15 year old, heavy 3 litre twin turbo juice guzzler..... you bonkers madman!!!
