so many good/decent example selling for well less than 3k on ebay and here, its a real shame as they are a future classic

the market seems to be very strange as the prices range from 2k to 6k in autotrader where some of the cheaper one are just as good as the dearer ones

I've just been on autotrader and all the descent ones start from 4k. Cheapest bog standard auto turbo with high miles = £3,500 Oh and N/A's going for 5-6K :smw:

how much do people exactly think a 16 year old Nissan car is going to go for??

There an old car they will go for little money!

And.......... what about old Porsches etc, and they aint a patch on the z

tbh they are a classic car, dont matter who makes them.....

look at the old skool mustangs, novas etc they fetch a premuium

tbh the market will pick up once they reach a certain age, look at the 240,260Z's?

all i know is that i will never sell mine, have ever intention of passing it down to my kids, the car is part of the family and nothign will change that :)

thats a matter of personal opinion im sure a lot of classic porsche enthusiasts would like to challenge you on that

Likewise with the classic Nissan/Datsun Z car range.

just people are forever whinging about prices of Zeds, why, what does it matter at the end of the day its an old car getting older, its about having a passion and interest in a marque and enjoying it, can you actually put a value on that?

I think the reason being is that people don't want to see them get too low so that every Tom, Dick and Harry can get hold of them. IE, ruin/abuse the examples that are left....so, seeing the marque getting tarnished, for an enthusiast is an acceptable thing to moan about.

Apart from the fact that they are much more reliable and the engines last much longer with less problems....and a much longer racing heritage than nissan... :hyper:

Sorry don't mean to be an ar*e! I love the Zed and quite fancy another but there arn't many (non-biased) people who would put a Zed in the same category as many Porshes, apart from the obvious competition such as the 944 etc that the zed was considered a better car than anyhow, and on average they go for a similar price to a good Zed. I guess people think a Porshe owner is more likely to have looked after the car than a Zed owner. Looking at many of the Zeds that are around lately I tend to think its true. Its hard to warrant putting money into an old nissan whereas a Porshe will hold its value better.

Only speaking from experience of having what was a £70,000 + Porsche 928s4

never again.... hoooooooorible...

Yes, good call. Thats why we have them because we love them, they cost feck all, and are a pleasure to drive.

For buyers its Fantastic

I think what annoys me is I drove through my village yesterday and everyone looks etc

my gf drove the car home and it looks so good inside/outside its fully loaded etc

oh well I best enjoy it then

If you import one with a good spec your Talking £8K

If the car has got full service history and all the reciepts for the right work done ie full engine rebuild with proper fordged parts, New turbos, clutch, Bush kit, suspension etc. They are still selling for £10K over here.

We know a ropey 911 will sell for £15K as apossed to £2K for a silmilar condition Z, but Porsche has the heritage and peddigree that will always appeal to the elitists.

What's wrong with the 928?

I have driven a few examples and have always been inpressed with the car - for many it is still the "Daddy" of the fast GT cars (in which the 300zx is in the same class).

I was actually looking at buying one before I bought the ZX; whilst I ultimately chose the ZX for superior looks, Japanese reliability (no comments there please - mine has never let me down :D ) and better value, I'd still consider seling the ZX for a late model 928GTS if I found an immaculate low mileage example.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
