Well got round to doing my Zed yesterday for the dreaded compression test. All was going well then it happend!!!! :headvswal One of my cylinders was shot :cry: . Not even a reading. All new plugs were put in the day before and were black except one which had been nicely cleaned by the fuel that had decided to flow through it. Pi##ed off is not the word. Does anyone have any idea of how i can get the my car back to the uk. I havent much help out here :cry: :cry: :cry: Why now ffs

If it won't run I think you'll have to get it fixed there.

There's no way you could get it towed and even trying it on with international AA cover they will only return it to the UK up to the value of the car and I'd imagine the bill would be thousands so they'd refuse.

Engine swap probably the cheapest option if it's definately knackered.

Maybe you can contact the guys in Netherlands, Belgium for ideas if there's nobody in Germany?

They might have a spare engine knocking about.

Cheers Chris, how are you anyway. Im gonna spk to Peter Nendles and Danny. Just seen an engine at the DTA website for 950 euro but done 160000 km but beggers cant be choosers at the mo. Why me LOL. :rolleyes:

Yeah that's an option if it will run on 5.

I've had a cylinder down and hardly noticed before, just a bit lumpy.

i drove around for weeks with a dead injector untill i got it sorted got no problems with the other cylinders it was just a bit sluggish.

iff its showing zero reading that points to a burnt or stuck open valve rather than compression surley,even a super worn bore would show something

Valve wouldn't cause oil to get into the combustion chamber. Holed or cracked piston without doubt. Driving on 5 isn't an issue, I did 180miles back from pod on 4 LOL. It really depends how badly the piston has failed as to whether it will still smoke though....
