Can't see why not mate,if the offset's right! ;)

Can Anyone tell me whether 19's will fit over standard shocks OK.

most peeps including my self have 19"s without any problem as mentioned above long as 0ffset is correct which is +35 also 19's look awesome on zed

Ok Thanks guys

The wheels I have already imported and boxed are 19s like this Axis

Now I thought I would need trick springs, I have KYBs at the moment but they are too low and not height adjustable. (see car below)

I never thought of going to a stock spring and damper set up.

I am concerned about clearance for the spring and cup mainly up front.

Offset on the Axis is Fr15 Rr 25 so that puts the wheels further out, unless Im mistaken.

Does anyone out there have a really good set of stock suspension to swap for the KYBs

Ok Thanks guys

Its the springs that dictate the ride height, not the shocks. Do you know what springs it has? Im sure we have members with lowering springs and 19" wheels. If you have a particulaly low spring height, then I would try a set of Eibachs.

p.s LOVE those wheels !!

As long as you go with tyres with the correct profile, the overall size of the wheel/tyre combination should be very close to stock, so you should be fine.

As I said I have KYB Shocks and springs

The problem is that the ride is too low for me (grinding sleeping policemen etc)

I thought the low ride height would not be suitable for 19 inch wheels with the reduction in compliance of the tyre. So I want something closer to stock shock and spring but I am concerned about the width of the stock shock / spring being a fat MCpherson strut as opposed to coilovers. Most of you guys think I would be OK on std kit.

Sorry if its a bit involved but I want the car to be a GT cumfy car not a tarmac burner.

Im thinking of getting Tein flex cos of the modest spring rates 8kg fronts and modest 15 mm lowering..see my car below I bought it from the imported on the KYBs I reckon they are -30mm. Not good for me !!

Legrath Yeah thanks

I cant wait to fit my wheels...they would probably fit on the car now but can you imagine the ride !!!!!

being pedantic, i'd say its not a Mcpherson strut, the zed has all round multi-link suspension, the first road car to have this.

Of course, I could be wrong, I dont claim to be an expert in this area.

look nice on ur car

Depends what rims, if they were 19" venoms, then they surely would not look good.

Ok Thanks guys

Very very nice choice there John. Hope you're going to have a 9" wide rear and an 8" wide front.

New gearbox and engine rebuild have meant I haven't had the cash to deal with this abomination yet  :hurl:

I have less trouble with my current car which is lowered with 18inch rims than my old zed that was standard. The old one was terrible over speed bumps but the new ones extra couple of inch rims give good clearance despite it being lowered.

Oh right...looks a nice zed other than those and the lettering on the screen.

Someone's selling standard rims for not much money at the moment.

Hey FunkiSi

Yeah thats what they are 8 fr 9 rr using up a lot of garage space all in there boxes but I dont see its a good idea to put them on now when in mid winter, with all that salt, also as mentioned before Id like to sort the suspension first.

Yeah Royal

I hadnt thought of that slightly larger wheel and tyre will increase ground clerance.

Im tempted to put the wheels on ...... where not going to get anymore snow are we ??? :D

John, this my car on 18" wheels when it was on OEM springs. It had a somewhat "off road" stance to it!
