 It's funny, but it's also not funny. That's bad luck mate. I've not tried, but I'd totally agree on general principles. I've just been looking at tyres today (am considering Goodyear F1s): they're rated 1 out of 5 for grip in snow so there's no way I'll be trying it. The rear-wheel drive surely can't help either.

Another tip regarding snow - don't eat it if it's yellow...

not sure on the use of chains but hey im not even going to move the car in the snow feck that

they do fook up your alloys.. used to use them all the time in america.. but realised its easier to put loads of sand bags in the boot and use a lower gear.. plus old tires.. get studded tires from usa.. again same as chains.. illegal.

Most everyday tyres are rubbish in the snow - especially wider high performance ones :(

And like you say a RWD car with the best part of 300bhp adds to the fun ;)

Best not use the ZX in snow - that's why I bought a 4x4 for the winter :D

Richard :smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Stick a couple of space-savers on the rear - that should help! SERIOUSLY!

Better still leave it Z at home!

Not tried traction control in the snow yet. Hopefully will get a chance this year! Racelogic claim that their system "can stop a deliberate wheelspin in the snow"

Has anyone else had a chance to try this? :D

yes i have amte and yes it does work to a degree until u start sliding sideways then nothings gonna save u apart from the kerb.

Also if you have wide tyres and an auto and you have just started it you can find the car keeps going when you brake gently at really low speed. The drive can be enough to overcome the rear brakes with the fronts locked up gliding over the snow. Really weird sensation. Just remember to knock it into neutral or press hard enough to lock the rears! Its just that common sense makes you want to brake gently when the roads all snow.

At my last house, i had to creep out of the drive as far as i could then put the boot down.............snow melted from under the tire and then i would shoot up the road!! Warm the car up first of course LOL
