I can't even get to that thread. Just comes up with the whole members log in thing. Haven't tried registering yet because I'm at work. I've looked at that site before, and I have to say that despite some of the completely minging cars they post there, the general tone is *extremely* unpleasant. A lot of very insecure people on there perhaps methinks. Anyway, don't know what you guys said (although I'd love to see the storm if somebody has a cached copy), but looks like you made an impression. :)

Now, the 300ZX photographed was nowhere near the standards of poor execution and laughability achieved by some of the Novas, Escorts and the like that disgrace the website. The Nissan is well done and has clearly had a lot of money spent on it.

 

But was it worth it? I don't think so, I think that the owner would have been better to do whatever engine mods he has done and left the outside of the car standard.

 

Despite what some of you may think, I am not jealous of the ZX. I think it would have been better as standard, but then it's your car and it's your choice. Just as it is my choice to say I don't like it.

the owner is me ok, now im up for abit of a laugh and that dont get me wrong and so are he boys on here, but like there all saying it will be hard to find a zed like mine, i to think that the zeds are amazing how they are, but i didnt want like that. you have no write in saying the things you did, and im sure the people wouldt say the stuff they did to my face. i suggest you keep your inputs to your self, i have taken my car to pretty much every jap show this yr and the comments have been outstanding, and the car, like sumone said is a show stopper, not coz its the best, coz there are many great zeds out there, but because its different and looks the part.

This "show-car" explanation has always struck me as someone going so far down the road of spending money on cosmetic modifications that they reach a point where they realise that there is no way they can justify it even to themself.

 

So it becomes a "show car". They justify spending even more money on the car by taking it to the occasional show and having all their mates from the OC congratulate them.

 

I can understand a company making a show car to demonstrate what they are capable of doing, they actually make money off it due to all the "free" advertising. But I can't see how any individual with nothing to promote can legitimately call his car a show car.

 

It's just a car that has had lots of money spent on it.

And I take it that it was your right to, take pictures of somebody elses car, then voice your opinions on a public forum, not knowing that maybe the owner of the car might see your pictures and read your comments. Next time think of other people, would you like to see a picture of your pride and joy posted on a public forum, or even your misses, then read a load of peoples comments slagging either your car or your misses off?? NO.

Surely if Karl takes it to shows, wins awards, gets good feedback then it is a show car. I bet if you took a standard fiesta to a show and said it was a show car you would get laughed off the show!

 

Yes, it has had a lot of money spent on it, but I don't think your definition of a show car is very accurate/accomodating ! And who says you cannot drive a show car on the road? After all it IS a vehicle! :slap:
