hi guys im back lol with a lurvly thread anyway,

 

 

got my cambelt fitted yesterday as well as a few belts and some bolts for the tensioner.

 

when i start up my car i can hear a screach is it the cambelt? it lasts for about 5 seconds.

 

sometimes as im driving it dioes the same thing.

 

2 on my stock boost gauge its full load is a 6.5. but on my after market one it says 0.4 psi. whats going on. the car cam with a aftermarket boost gauge but yesterday they fixed the gauge too. :rolleyes:

 

what does this mean,

forogt to mention theres a slight hole in the middle exhaust its blowing.

Screaching will be the fan belt just will need tightening up (get em to do it)

boost prob could be a number of things.

do an ecu diagnostics to see if you're in safety boost

What does your stock boost gauge read when idling? Is the needle all the way to -14? (it should be, otherwise you've got a leak somewhere).

Are you sure the aftermarket gauge is reading psi not bar? cos 0.4 bar is about 6.5psi

forget the stock gauge, they can be totally inaccurate .

mines an import z so its hhm.

stock its on -7. full boost its close to +7. more like 6.5hhmm

the screech could also be your viscous fan on the way out.

Probably just the alternator belt needing tightning after they removed and put it back not tight enough, also it may have a bit of oil or something on it causing it to slip. Its quite easy to tighten, but they should definately do it for you seeing as you've paid them. My front belts (alternator,etc) screech for a few mins when I start up due to them being brittle and needing replacing.

so what about the boost?

so the screaching is also heard as i rev upto 6000 with no gear. is this the fanbelt?
