Does the Grounding Kit really work as stated on http://www.groundingkits.co.uk/? I mean, how could you by giving the car better grounding get more horsepower? I could think that indirectly it could maybe increase that a very little bit by giving more stable power supply. How big effect does these have on the 300zx TT? Don’t think of me as a fool if this is obvious, I’m just curious and I’ve never heard of these before :)

grounding kit does have benefits if the car has a stronger ground then there is less likely a chance for a short or current efecting parts on the car such as heater matrix and if it does this then im all for 1

also looks good aswell :p

Well they don't cost much but ain't got any yet. but me Zed does miss a bit when I slow down. Must go faster then it is ok

dont ever ground the heater matrix!! it will act as a sacrificial anode & actually make it corrode quicker!!!!

ah, i see what grag was saying. the heater matrix corrodes more rapidly if there is a voltage leak, this can be caused by poor earths. this has the effect of a small voltage being present in the coolant creating electrolysis & corroding the matrix.

an extra 120bhp

Yeah Right :p hehe, but seriously guys, how much more bhp will it give you? Is it like 1 or 2, or more like 3 to 4? :p

That's what I thought, but had no idea it would make much of a difference on a car. Does the heater matrix butt up directly to the body of the car?

True but how long would that take??.. Landrovers used to be + earth to stop the corroding and they still fell to bits :)

depends on how well your Z is wired up anyway. probably about 5.

Can't believe it will give you any EXTRA power but it might well restore it a bit towards how it left the factory.

They can certainly make things run a bit smoother by cureing minor electrical problems but I wouldn't call it a performance upgrade.

Exactly !

Over the years a lot of the connections may have degrade a bit, so you could remove them all and clean them etc, or you could buy some new ones and stick 'em on as well. I did and I don't think it made any difference, but I guess it's a bit like insurance, well, no , assurance I suppose.

Yep. And they look quite nice too, or at least from what I can see from the pics.. On the groundingkits.co.uk website it says that you get a £5 (if my memory serves me right) by being on this forum, but this is only for subscribed members, right?

Oh, and then when talking about matrix heaters, what does that one exactly do?

The heater matrix is the mini radiator in the dashboard that provides the cabin heating. (and when it spring a leak it fills your footwell and ECU with boiling water - which is nice !)

Oh, its that one. Okay, thanks :) As I don’t have English as my mother tongue its sometimes hard to know what all the parts are in English, so don’t keep me as a fool if I ask something obvious :p

Thick audio wire makes just as good a job if you want to try it out before getting the bling. Just connect those o clip things and screw it on the different bits and too ground connection of battery. Dave

Was surprised to find they have these sacrifical anodes on boats to stop the electrical currents around the boats eating themselves, I must get out more :( :smash:

mercs used to have them under the coil springs to stop them corroding & snapping - even more useless info for ya :D
