Is there any info anywhere on COMPLETELY removing the abs system, not just disabling it ??

Now why the fook would you want to do that? LOL

Karl I hear you drive like a complete turbo nutter ******* leave it alone its a good safty feature;)

Well my Skyline brakes have been fitted for 3 years and I have never had a problem,I can just imagine what fun it would be locking the wheels at 150+ LOL,had a mate write his motor off 4 weeks ago because the 03 model was not fitted with abs.

This is possibly true mate ( who told ya !! ) , but had various cars with NO abs and found em great fun to drive. Had a impreza RA version with no abs and was excellent fun as long as ur careful and dont lock em at the wrong time..Plus u can use the brake and do the abs urself , just press and depress fast when u need it ..same effect. Just interested in the reading on how to, and the results people have had thats all , i not gonna rip it out yet as i have racelogic t/c and need it , cant be arsed to get the speed sensors added so will just have to keep it ........for now. :nana2:

You have four feet, four brake pedals, four brains and the ligaments of a hummingbird?

But one brake pedal !! and 2 feet !!!

You have traction control but you want to get rid of ABS?

Correct - if you remove the ABS, your traction control will not work. It uses the ABS as a point of reference. Keep it...

yep i know but i can always get the speed sensors for the wheels to make up for it !!

TCS only uses the ABS sensors, no reason it should need the ABS system its self - would need to try it and see just to make sure, but I'm pretty sure the wheel sensors are just inductive and don't need powered externally.

erm, lets not forget it would also be an MOT failure!

speed sensors are inductive also (apart from on newer vehicles which are starting to use hall sensors);)

When cars are rated for insurance, the ABS brake system would be a factor in this, any attempt to remove the ABS would alter this original manufactures safety feature.

Knowing insurance companies as we all do, I would be very careful about removing the system, try informing your insurance company and watch the premium rise as they will not like the ABS been removed, especially on an amateur basis ( how they would see it )

MOT require cars fitted originally with ABS to have the system fully working.

Just my thoughts
