I'm a newbie here, and been a huge fan of the Z32 Fairlady for a long time. Now I can actually (nearly!) afford one. I love the look of the 2 seater and was wondering what the chances are of finding a TT manual without the targa tops. Also, any idea of the price? Thanks for any guidance.

i dnt know how many twinturbo slicktops owners there are on this forum but the two that i know of are me and chunk and we both have autos

I would'nt dismiss SWB Manual with Targa's. Much easier to find (but still rare), more pose-factor and Im not sure if the Hardtop offers any noticable advantages ?

 

The Targa setup is'nt like a regular Convertable, where you have a massive increase in body flex and scuttle shake.

targa tops are heavier, and having driven both the slicktop definatly has a stiffer chasis, you get much less twist and they corner slightly flatter.

 

i wouldnt say no to a swb tt manual targa top though

SWB Slicktops are by far more desirable, lighter, quicker but not as common as the 4 seaters. Hold out and you will find one iam sure. Have you ever considered a modded non turbo 2 seater slick?. I have one and its so much fun, only problem is its so damm strong and I cannot break it. Owning a TT for years I am not used to this. The N/As are slightly less rare but are much lighter than the TTs,
