I think the car should be over 10 yrs old to be a classic.

I'm 30 and pay £230 fully comp from Carole Nash. also gives me break down and cover in Europe. I called the break down once and they we very quick..

Excellent insurance - but then - you can tell 'till you make a claim!

I just payed £640 for a year's fully comp on my NA.

I have a clean licence and full NCB.

But have a 'dangerous job' apparently which affects it and the car's quite new and it doesn't fit in my garage.

dangerous job? what do you do?

Crag David, soul sensation!

Seriously though I write for a magazine which is not as good as it might sound (but still alright).

TT. 32 y/o. 1 yr no claims. 2 minor bumps (£200 damage and £500 damage) in last 5 years. All (and lots) of mods declared. Fully Comp. No mileage limit.

£1250 thru Greenlight insurance.

Houghtons wanted £1800, even with club discount!

Insurance Factory wanted £1550.

I had to make about 40 phone calls before I got it down to £1250. Obviously it would've been a lot cheaper if I'd had a 5000 mile limit, but my Z is my daily driver.

92 import TT with mods (mainly body, few performance)

38yrs old & kept on driveway not garaged. Paid £679 with Adrian Flux without declairing mods (Naughty but true)

In order to get that price I had to fit Cat1 alarm & certify & use my NCD off my other car, which made that higher.

Then found Houghtons from the traders forum. Gave em a ring & got it down to £514 with all mods declaired. This was as a second car so could put my NCD back on my other car to save on that as well. :hyper:

I cancelled the Flux insurance after just 1 month & they ripped me off for £179 but this was still cheaper in the long run & secure in the fact that all mods are covered.

It pays to use the forum & shop around as I found out the hard way.

25 y/old. 3 yrs NCB. No claims in past 5 years.

92 TT Jap - Stock.

£1200 Fully comp with Directline :( - Standard Policy

In May its due for renewall so will insure it as 2nd car under a limited mileage classic policy and will probably get it to less that half that...depending on what mods it has by then :D

£894 - fully comp Jap import, 1 years NCB and only 23 ;)

£330 Fully comp all mods declared on my SWB TT Slicktop, im 30 (thats years not stone ;) ) i have a clean liecense and thats with Houghtons

And Nick :slap:

33yo Jap TT £550..no milage restriction..things that get a really low quote would be a garage, driveway and cat 1 alarm oh and possibly a post-code change...:D

I was paying just under £500 FC with Lifesure for a regular, everday policy. When I got the Rav, I switched my ZX to Carole Nash and it's now well under £300 - about £270 IIRC.

I have a UK TT auto with the only mods being an induction kit and the alloys, I'm a 34 YO finance director with a clean licence and 1 fault accident in 2004.

Richard
