Every time I fill the Zed up, I unsrew the filler cap and PSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!

Anyone else have this??-sure it's pressure not vaccum as the cap seems to lift slightly when loosened off?? :)

Is it a ZED thing?

Cheers.

Most of my cars do/have done this.. It's supposed to be an indication of a well pressurised fuel system. If it doesn't hiss it can suggest a fuel leak somewhere :(

Yep same here as well

Also this is what you're suposed to do before working on your fuel system, as it take the pressure out :D

Mine does this too.

When filling up, does everyone else have to turn the petrol nozzle 90 degrees too (to stop the fuel supply cutting out)?

Spot on.....

My ZX, Rav-4 and Corsa all do this too

The size and sound of the "whoosh" depend on how empty the tank is and how fast I have been driving prior to opening the cap.

It is perfectly normal

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I find that having the pump at 11 oclock (so its nearly upside down) works the best.

yes the tank cap is meant to hiss when it is unscrewed. If it doesnt it does imply there is a leak some where.
