Had a complaint that it's unfair :confused:

 

 

 

Ok just to explain..................................

 

Luke calls me on a weekly basis and tells me what new products he will be selling,Luke paid his trader subscription fees but he don't post he uses his section more like a banner add (thats his choice)

 

I offered to do a couple of group buys for him on new products,now as trader liason officer I will do the same for ANY trader on here if they were to ask me thats all you have to do.

 

 

Just for the record,I offered to do two or three at the very max Its not a weekly special or anything like that.

erm, how can anyone complain about that??

 

1, youre helping the traders sell products - thats why there here isnt it

 

2, youre helping subscribed members get better deals on products - cant be a bad thing surely?

 

3, youre the clubs trader liason officer - do what you thinks best matey :)

Cant see why it would be unfair, if you are offering this to all traders. I would see it as a positive thing for the traders and the members, as it brings a product more to the attention of all, whom may not have realised that that particular product was available from a particular trader ( if that makes sense)

Mac, I think you are doing a great job bringing these group buys to subscribed members. Like you say, any trader is more than welcome to perfrom their on group buys, or create it through you. Well done, keep up the good work.

I think the traders should do it themselves Iain, esp as you are trade mod.

I can understand other traders getting the hump if you 'appear' to them to be biased towards other trader(s).

As you're a moderator people could see it as your endorsement of a product; so to save bad feeling and aggro later it would be good if you did get to see the goods before the group buy. Perhaps they should send you freebies ;) :D

 

I can't see that it's favouritism if you're prepared to do the same for any of the traders, but even if it were then this forum is ultimately for the benefit of the members, not the traders, after all. The fact that decent traders can benefit from it is an added bonus !

It's simply a case of WHY James, yes for US and that includes me, but Luke benefits the most and WHY doesn't Luke do it himself ? no you shouldn't miss out and you wouldn't IF Luke came on here himself and did it himself, this is his fulltime job from home so WHY not ? and really your opening lines say it all mate, we are all active except Luke so Luke should miss out and other traders were NOT aware Mac would do this for all until it was queried, no complaint has been made that am aware off and therefore see this thread as futile as it's plainly obvious what the vast majority are going to say.

(edit) Yeah, I can see your point Smithy that if Luke can't be bothered to run these himself then he should miss out.......but then so would we and I would refer to the above quote.

 

At the end of the day, this forum IS for the benifit of the members and presently (good or bad) Mac is our middle man to Luke because Luke doesn't come on here. Maybe Iain as trader liason wotsit, SHOULD be mentioning to Luke that he should make the effort to come on here.

 

But no big deal........certainly not worth getting your knickers in a twist, not you Paul but perhaps Mac and Vinz.......just not worth it. We love making a big deal out of nothing on here.

U should do it especially when a trader is away for some reason or has no access on a pc

Macca. Why is a trader upset mate. I would not mind but Luke is the only chap doing bodykits for Z`s. If you were pushing a product that most traders sell and favouring one trader in particular I can understand the gripe however this is clearly not the case.

O by the way check out my website it is nearly done. We just have customers cars to put on and special projects.

It seems to me that you do a bloody good job, you seem to have sorted out all the squabbling that went on between certain people and the traders. If it is a case that your "services " were open to all traders then I dont see what the gripe is, and to be honest, if you were doing it as a favour to one, it wouldnt really bother me, the members save money, whats their problem?

It's a case of luke can use his forum how he likes as long as he follows our rules like all other traders. No trader is forced to keep their section active.

 

There is no conflict of interest, any member of the forum can organise group buys not just traders. If mac wants to go that little bit extra to help a few people out then I see no problem with that.

Agree with most of what's been said above.. My personal worry was that Macca was being taken advantage of and doing jobs that Luke should be doing himself, but I think he's answered that..

I`m not a miserable git or anything but I voted no :slap:

 

In regards to Luke, he is one of the most outstandingly amiable and helpful people I haver ever met in my 30 years. No complaints there. Buy him many beers any time.

 

However, he takes a choice not to use the forum as he could. He has often said that with one thing and another its a big no for him. So, let him run his business as he sees fit. If he wants to do a group buy let him say so, that`s all. Jeez, the discounts he gives already makes any buy seem like a group to me.

 

If you are gonna help with anything Macca, I think your considerable talents could be better used in further development of the forum. You have already proven a great asset as a moderator (IMHO).
