I am looking for new rear tyres very soon  and I have come across these Toyos. Are they any good? I havent heard anything bad about them, but the price is very very cheap for them I think. Even cheaper than the budget ones.

That is what I was looking at. I remember them being £100+ last year when I needed them.

I need tyres again and when I searched Mytyres.net I couldnt believe the price. I just hope its not a mistake as they are £10 cheaper than the budget ones.

I have ordered :D just hope its for real. £117 for 3 Toyo Proxes. :D Last year I spent £170 on 2 Falken and the year before £300 on 2 Bridgstone S02s. And these Proxes are meant to be up there with the Bridgestones.

Stuart

hmmm, mytyres.net charges £110.20 for these.

My local garage does them at £80 + VAT (£94) so they are not that cheap for me. I'll only have these tyres on my car, IMO they are the best you can get.

They are not always the cheapest around, that is why I always have a good look round. But I doubt I will find Proxes for cheaper than £58 each, considering the budget ones are £70.

I got my Falken for £78 each last year and they are £91 now.

The year before I paid £150 each for S02 and they are £123 now. Its hard to fathem the reasons.

to replace my rear Toyos ,with mytyres,265/35/ZR18 =£96.70 each,fronts225/40/ZR18 +£65.50 each,=£324.40,that to me is cheap,as my local rip off wanted £520 fitted, will order some me thinks from Mytyres:D ;)

I think Mytyres give you voutchers for free fitting on selected garages. Last time I looked they did anyway

Stuart

My local specialist wanted £125 each VAt inc and fitting and balancing inc for 265/35 X 18 FK 451 Falkens and mytyres wants £154 each.

Where's all these bargain prices then? I bought local!

Are we talking pre VAT prices here with some of the exceptional prices quoted?

Toyo's are better than the Falkens any day & these are prices including VAT and delivery. Admittedly not all their prices are that good, but these toyo prices they have at the minute are VERY good, for a very good tyre.

I ordered a set of Proxys from MyTyres on Friday. Don't think price includes fitting, but they do have arrangements with local garages where they will install for what equates to just under £10 per tyre.

I know they are good. I have heard that they are up there with the Bridgstone SO series, and that was why I was so confused.

Bargin. May get some for next time too.

Stuart

mytyres seem to have sold out or withdrawn them from their listings. :(

I just got an email from them saying they dont have any and they are stuggling to find any from their supliers and they dont know when they will have any.

I am willing to wait a few weeks for that price. :D

Stuart

this has happened before, they only recently (1-2 months ago) started to stock them again after about a 6 month gap.

Not sure if they are as up there, but for price and performance people would sooner pay for 3 sets of toyo than one set of so2/3. Its all about the economics. Of course if your money is disposable, youd go for the so2 (if you can find em) / 3 or the new goodyear eagle.

But my money isnt dispoable and ill most likely be going for toyos next :D

I've had the Bridgestone SO2, Pirelli P Zeros, Yokoham S1Zs and AVS sport. The toyos are simply better than any of them, apart from the wear rate. However, they wear a damn site better than the Yokohamas!

Surely they cant wear any worse than the S02s. They only lasted 8,000 miles on mine.

Miles competition ehh;) My rear BF Goodridge profiler do 12k.

Yeah but have no power going through that car of yours.

Dont forget with the wider tyres you probably have twice as much rubber on them so they should do twice as much mileage. ;)
