Classic cars, classic prices, classic looks, enthusiastic following, prices rising, rare........ all words been used to describe the 300zx for some time but again we have a dealer who just cannot help placing a big ticket price on a pup..

The interior is a hash with a stupid gear lever knob, and a centre radio surround with missing radio system, a stupid dial, screw covers missing, cheap speedo over lay showing 5 mph when stationary, burn hole in the drivers seat, missing hazard light switch cig lighter missing and worn after market steering wheel.

This kind of car and price does the marque no good at all, a dealer who also thinks the 300zx targa tops were called aero tops .. aka Toyota supra style !

He missed out ‘rare’ in the title though that seems to be the trend at the moment. A lot of gash around at the minute trying to ride the wave of 10/15k with thousands spent and if you drill into the receipts it’s 60% labour costs. As Shania Twain said ‘it don’t impress me much’

PMSL.... Sad thing is though, someone will probably pay top dollar for that badger's armpit (IE as rough as....)

It needs a hell of a lot of work, to bring it up to a £5k car, let alone a £10k car!!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

That is a shed of dread ! I hope it does not end up at mine and i have tell its new owner he,s bought a lemon !!

You know it will mate....

He or she will eventually turn up on here, regaling us of their woes and asking for recommendations of where they can take their new purchase to get it put right. And we'll all say, there's only one place to go...……

Than you Richard :winkiss:.I just hope they have enough money after buying it to right its many wrongs !!

Yup - and also that I get my car in for that cambelt change etc., before they do....

Talk soon mate and hope all's well with you!!

Sorry but from a poor ad of an overpriced car how have we established it’s an utter turd?

The interior has been dicked about with and left very unfinished, but the exterior looks alright... someone has spent lots of money on it at some stage, wether it’s been messed with after that ownership or they lost interest/prioritised poorly is up for debate. What it’s guilty of being is overpriced with a poor advert but referring to it as a lemon and not worth £5k, if it’s not worth £5k then neither are most that are about. If you were on the hunt and saw this thread, it might make you pick a different zed but I guarantee you it will make them pick a different club to join...

Good points Steve - and I will agree the exterior looks OK in the ad.... But therein lies the warning; this appears to be a decent looking Zed being sold for top dollar. But caveat emptor - there are signals of poor maintenance and [probably recent] owner neglect. There are certainly better cars available for the same - even less money - so whilst some might interpret the above comments as negative, I would like to think they might encourage a prospective buyer to either look elsewhere, or drive a harder bargain on that car. If only to conserve their cash for any necessary rectification works.

But I do also concede that none of us have actually seen the car, so we could be judging it a little harshly...

As usual Jeff you miss the point. When you and others bitch and moan about people’s cars, talk down their worth and value as if they are literally a complete an utter turd you paint yourself and the club in a poor light. Ironically these are the same people proclaiming that £5-6k is a fair price for a manual TT in even a remotely fair condition, desperate to talk up values.

Many active and good people have walked away from the club or faded away due to a minority of people and thier opinions. These days there’s about half a dozen active users on here and what used to be an active hub has become a clique. You sir have done many good things for this car and it’s scene in years gone by but bitching about what’s for sale isn’t one of them.

In a few years time when the club ceases because it has no members think back to the sorts of attitudes and opinions expressed in this thread and observe the correlation. Where will people post pictures of bags of over overpriced OEM screws.

This is the forum part of the club were we talk, bitch and give advice. We are all different in what we think and do we are all human. Years ago we might have pulled this thread and then we were accused of over moderating but its good to talk and have opinions. The good the bad and the ugly.

There have been toys/prams in the past which have made me avoid this forum for a while in the past but that's usually been childish keyboard-ninja stuff. There was TimmyTurbo and that bloke who has R32 as avatar (from IoW?) and other spats.

But the honest (and sometimes blunt) advice over the years is worth its weight in gold. This isn't the first and won't be the last (I hope) where an over-inflated ad is posted as a warning. If it encourages ads to be more honest and gets people to see what knowledge there is here, that can only help.

Nope..just as much as it does not pick up Getgreddy either :whistling::lol::lol:

some folk are missing the point

Yep. I am "some folk" and I am missing the point.

Maybe Im the only one?? Who knows!!

Definitely over-priced, shame though as at some point someone has loved it.

Most likely not for a while though, I wonder when it last had a decent service?

The underside is what I like to see pictures off, rust oil leaks, worn suspension/bushes etc.
