I have been looking to remove the HIDs ready for my upcoming MOT but cannot get the normal bulbs to work...

I have removed all of the HID wiring and left with a 2 pin socket and installed H3 bulbs. I have plugged the cable form the bulb into both of the terminals but it doesn't work and cannot find any pictures of the normal wiring / connection to know what is wrong.

I am guessing a bit of wiring was removed but cannot remember as it was 4 years ago. Any advise?

Got the bulb secure in the headlight with the spring clip thing but only have one pin and a 2 pin connector

I did mine earlier this week for mot.

The bulb lit without having to replace it into the housing.

Mine's a jdm with a 2 pin H3C bulb. If yours is a uk it may be different.

Auto shops here only had H1 and H3 bulbs with 1 pin. I will look online and see if I can get some. If not I will solder an earth cable to the H3s.

Thanks gents

As others have said, H3c is the correct bulb for jap cars and connects differently to the H3. You probably arent getting a ground

Also if you can hide the HID ballast the MOT shops won't pick up on it most likely

Me too...…

…..Whilst I know that the arcing on start-up gives it away that we have HIDs, how many testers even know what these cars are nowadays; let alone whether they had HIDs as OEM equipment back in the day...

I'd consider taking the chance, just to see if I'd get away with it.... Granted, a recorded fail would make the tester more vigilant next year - but if it passed, happy days....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I haven't.

Does the 99 spec brochure show that they come with hid? If so a copy of that would probably be enough to "prove" that imports came with hids
