Due to new MOT rules in Northern Ireland my MPH clock will be an mot failure as they now need to show both MPH and KPH. So I need a MPH/KPH speedo cover plate and over the last few months I cant find any for sale. Does any member know where these can be found or do you have any?

Back on the clocks this evening and where the pcb track was cut for the speed converter I soldered a jump wire over it and now all is working perfect. Thanks for the advice guys I needed it  I also fitted my new right hand side light pod as mine was cracked and I wanted to change the position of the fog light switch to under the dials near the ignition and also fitted new 501 bulbs in the clocks so a productive few days.

Glad its all working again,

from what I have seen so far the 180 on your original speedo would have been KPH so you have the equivalent in MPH now, you only ended up with the 180 MPH speedo because of the converter

I have only seen what I assume was a UK speedo rather than a JDM and that only went to 160 MPH I am working on info from the few Z32's that I have seen having only had mine a couple months

Pleased you have solved the problem, your MOT or equivalent should now be a formality, the position of your old rear fog switch seems to be a popular choice as the animal that fitted mine decided that was a good place also

Hi Marc my old Speedo face was the original Jap clock with a MPH sticker over the KPH and the speed converter made the needle slow down so it would read as mph. But if I was on a track The needle would go all the way to 150 plus but now it would hit 120 and stop even though the car is still increasing in speed. So I might be changing clocks again in the future.

Gary just don't wanna stick the spanners and screwdrivers in, but is your clock mileage not gonna click round in km's?? as you put the converter in to reduce the speed from K's too miles. then your odo not still gonna click up K's??

I wouldn’t have bothered doing anything after seeing the requirement in writing that Chris has posted. It basically reads ‘install pretend rocker switch to pass this test’!

Failing that, a UK cluster is your best solution, that way you can do 180MPH on your track and not have to worry.

Dont want a grumpy tester who fails the Z mate. A UK clock is what I need in the future.

Mileage wont worry me to much mate as its my car for life. But if I do ever sell then it will be sold with mixed miles/kilometers

I use 2 teaspoons one each side, be careful though as they can be brittle and break up if you’re too rough, just gently prize together so both sides move in unison :thumbup1:
