I enjoyed the first episode. I think its a good show, different of course, but still enjoyable to watch. The friendship between the three seems to be working and matured, it seems they have spent more time together while filming and off camera. I do enjoy the grand tour because of the trio, but I think there is enough room on TV for both shows as they are different enough to fill the space. They are better than some show about essex celebs that I caught the end of the other day!

on principal i refuse to watch it i don't care if its the best show on tv they ruined it for me when sacking clarkson so i won't give them my viewing figure, funnily enough the mrs does the same with bake off

first episode was really good this series but the second was utter rubbish imo was hoping for better after the promising start, the presenters have gelled together nicely but will never be as good as previous 3 but its a motor show at the end of the day so il watch it regardless of who is presenting

That’s a bit of a miserable way of looking at it. The way I see it is that we now have two motoring shows instead of 1 which is a good thing.

I echo the comments about the first episode being great but the second being a bit naff. The McLaren bit was good but the Bigfoot stuff was cheesy. There’s a Japan special next week though which should be interesting to watch [emoji106].

That's why I brought the TG show on line as they are going to the land of the rising sun this Sunday.

Or driving jap cars!

Yes that Bigfoot part was naf but the off roaders look good & those electric bikes.

Yeah that’s true, those bikes were cool as. I also agree that the chemistry between presenters is much better now. Especially Harris and LeBlanc. I was always a massive fan of Harris ears before he was on Top Gear, LeBlanc is still a bit wooden when talking to camera in studio but I’m sure he’ll get better. He’s good in the film pieces though and you can tell he’s genuinely enthusiastic about the job and cars

I thought it has had a decent start, funnily enough I also caught by chance the extra gear show (called something like that) that went into more detail about the show and the cars, it was interestig to hear more about the track conditions, McLaren's etc. Cant be too bad to have more car shows on TV. Having some competition should keep everyone on their toes. Personally I did like it when car shows actually compared cars rather than just create sensation but I like it all the same.

Yup - I agree with this..... Although I have to plead ignorance on the comment about the Essex celebs - I have never seen such a program...

Matt LeBlanc is growing into the host's role very well; I like Chris Harris - and whilst Rory Reid irritates the crap out of me, TG is worth a watch.

I still prefer the Grand Tour; but that's just because I am a secret non-PC, vegan hating, right wing dinosaur...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Dont worry about that because I am a open-booked, vaguely PC, meat loving, left wing spring chicken and I still love the trio!

I don’t watch it any more but only because I got board of the old show. I think I would probably enjoy the new season more so will try and make an effort to watch it again. :cool3:

Well of all the '90s Japanese "sports" cars they could have chosen for the studio line-up it was great to see a Z32 (and it was even in blue!).

I wonder who it belongs to? Marvellous to see the bonkers Japanese car (sub) cultures in their element and USS Tokyo Car Auction was a

sight to behold.

I haven't seen it yet as I'm still in Japan. We're they complimentary of the Z32? I hope it was painted in a better light then the last time it was on TG.

No one has commented on the new show.

Any thoughts?

I saw it meant to say nice example and dare I say it it seams to be getting better !!

Here’s a few pictures I got of stuff that day and a couple of funny pics from the show last night. How it all came about was basically Torque GT who imported my car for me had been contacted by Top Gear in early January saying they wanted a Z32 as one of a few cars to be in the studio during filming. Torque GT then contacted myself and put me in touch with the people at Top Gear. 2 weeks later I was at the track/studio for filming!

All the staff and crew were super friendly, we actually got to watch the filming of last weeks episode too so we got to meet Lee Mack as well. After the finished that episode everyone had lunch and I was asked to drive my Z into the studio to position it for filming. After this was done there was some setup to do etc. and during this time me and Ruta managed to get a quick conversation with Matt LeBlanc and Chris Harris. Both of them were brilliant, really funny, really polite and humble. They’re both proper petrol heads, Ruta was pretty star struck by Matt LeBlanc and he was really cool about it, jokingly telling her to stand next to him in the middle of the photo above because he’d rather stand next to her than Chris.

I asked if they could sign my users manual. When I showed the manual to Chris he asked what car it was for, when I pointed it out his response was “Good man! They were mega when they came out!” As you can imagine I was grinning like a Cheshire Cat when he said that.

During filming the presenters were really chatty and friendly with the audience between takes etc. There’s also pretty good chemistry between them now. Whilst one was talking to camera you could pretty much guarantee the others would be behind the camera pulling faces and giving gestures to try and make them stuff it up which was funny.

After filming the audience left and I spotted Rory so took my chance to get him to sign my manual too and have a chat with him. Again, he was super polite and did so without hesitation. Once all the audience had left it was just a case of shuffling the cars around so I could get out of the studio then getting on my merry way.

Really good day, all the staff and crew were lovely and made us really welcome, the lunch they gave us was lush, and it was great to see how it all comes together.

P.S. I don’t know who the Stig is, he didn’t take his helmet off or speak the whole time.
