Hello, shameless plug, but tonight I'm on ITV coast and country at 8pm. They're doing an episode about RAF Valley and I think I'll have a decent part, I filmed quite a bit with a weather girl Ruth Wignall, out on the cliffs talking about SAR :)

Unfortunately I think it's only showing on ITV wales though :-/ Ah well, keep an eye out if you're watching it later

Congratulations though - I'll keep an eye out. :)

What an absolutely awesome bit of kit. Clean, quiet, loads of power. Only weighs 2500kgs or so. Loads of information that is very clearly presented. 90 degrees angle of bank 150kts. What a great aircraft. Doesn't even use much fuel, 240kgs an hour.

Compared to a Sea King! 21'000lbs, 100kts and 30 degrees agle of bank, 1200lbs of fuel an hour... unless of course we had the blue lights on...

And my new office is clean bright and awesome.

I was on that ridge for over 2 hours having given me coat away haha  20 seconds of fame

They've done a decent account of our place to be honest, not always the case with the media.

I did it once in a Sea King... it was Very noisy and awful. The engineers remote control them in and out

For a second I thought you meant fly them remote control in and out. That is cool though. I've always wanted to be a pilot, dream job. Too old now really

I used supply Westlands in a previous job. Last trip I did there they were refurbishing a bunch of Seakings for an overseas contract. They are huge in person, quite often get them flying overhead as Yeovil isn't too far from here.

I used to belong to the friends of Valley Society and been along to a few invitation only open days..walk around the workshops ect with Hawk engines on stands in various state of repair and tear downs..RAF Valley is a awesome place and i get up there many times during summer weekdays when the young Hawks pilots are training:thumbup1:....great pic Tom and such a fantastic job you have there, your parents must be very proud:wink:
