Great post Andrew I never seen that article before. Apart from Pete is any of the other owners about and still have their Z.?

I remember most of these cars and owners.

 

James Morgan (aka "Jaffa") still has his (kaiju project)

Rich Newton (aka "Chunk") sold up years ago. Into Skylines now I believe.

Paul Carr (aka "Cadpaul"), not sure on this one, maybe Bird might know.

Slick Pete, as we know, he still has his although I don't think he's ever had a head of hair. ;)

Mike Blackmore, no idea

Dave Monaghan (aka "Royal), into motorbikes now. Sold the red one a while ago.

Martin Garner (aka "Teapot"), sold a long time ago, maybe 8 or 9 years

Dave Haylett (aka "EvoluZion3"): Sold his car to Dan Britton who comes on here from time to time, can't remember his username.

Mike Harris, no idea

I still have a copy of the magazine.

the only bit of that car still with me is the JIB 760 reg.

I sold the car many years ago.

i think it later was broken for spares.

 

It was a great day out. One of the best I ever had.

Bruntingthorpe main straight is scary....as you crest the ridge in the middle!

JIB760 is still registered to a red car. I'm guessing your black and gold one started life as red? I forget know.

Yeah! Cherry red metallic. the shell was Yaseen's damaged slicktop that I repaired.

Maybe I should change that with the DVLA:innocent:

Yes it was. Lampost..side on.

Yas was near the old Zedworld yard and had it recovered to there.

I helped him collect it and brought it to my place where I helped him strip it.

His dad came from Leicester and took everything away except the rolling shell which i had in payment for stripping it.

I broke /bought cars to get panels for it

 

That was a good save Pete.

Always wondered where Cadpaul went. I remember visiting his house in Newcastle ( I think) years ago when all of us use to bomb around 'up North' LOL

Wow, talk about blast from the past!

Still chat to Chunk, Dave and TPot on Facebook from time to time, Rich is now married and he’s all about the drift scene these days even after losing BOTH of his legs to two separate road accidents. Dave appears to be an extreme cross-country running fanatic, and Martin is a family man (much like myself).

 

Nice to see such memories, I missed out on that day due to work, I miss the old days :)

Just seen this. And funnily enough, I'm literally speaking to Cadpaul right now. He's doing quite well. His hair is no longer dark though. He sold his car years ago, but the car is still MOT'd. It was sold quite local but I font know who has it now

Forgot all about this. Was a good day out ! It was a dual shoot-out against the Mitsubishi GTO owners, who turned up with a load of very highly modified examples.

looks like a big clash of events for next year, if Simply Japanese and ToTB are on at the same time, and Silverstone Classic is possibly going to be a week later next year which puts in into the same weekend.

 

The Classic is where the ZClub are proposing to join all clubs up for the multi anniversary.
