This tip will without doubt help everybody who has to replace the heater matrix pipes at the rear of the engine, Sadly I had to try to do this rather confined job last week, I was not able to, hands are too big to get down the back of the engine, even extra long ,long nosed pliers did not help,

So, plan B, call in the Genius I know as dad,

What resulted is pictured below, A very very simple tool which enables to hoses to be effectively put into position and then pushed home onto the Heater Matrix barbs on the firewall.

I suspect it can also be used easily for all hoses in confined spaces,

The only thing that is not self explanatory is that you twist the copper bar to tighten the noose around the rubber hose, the tighter you go , the more locked in position the hose becomes, you should also put the hose clip on first.

Enjoy

Brilliant!! It's because he is from an era where day to day life required ingenuity and a time when you didn't rely on a halfords fitter to fit a headlight bulb.

Good old engineering, learn something new everyday; thanks for sharing! Now go get your Dad a Yorkie bar or something!! A real man lol.

fantastic "outside the box" thinking...buy your dad a pint from me:thumbup1:

Love it :thumbup:Your dad is from an era were you have a mind set that there is a solution to every problem. Never beaten.

Yep - I have to agree....

.....And it's a mind-set that is slowly disappearing...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
