Hi, I'm new Z owner and new here, not my car though :) I'm based in Spalding. Where is the closest specialised garage to sort a few major issues, I know there is one in Nottingham, but maybe there's one closer?

I only know zcentre for their parts. I've never known anyone to use their garage so I can't give you feedback there.

Automodz is a fiesta specialist not a zed specialist ?

Go to Lee Dent mate. Even if you've got to trailer the car there it's worth it as it's in the best hands. & welcome!

Either way he knows his way around a Z and is reasonably priced.

 

I do my own work but I've bought parts from him in the past, always been fair tbh.

You will get a few dislikes and likes on different garages but you pay your money and hope for the best. If it was me in your location then its Lee Dent. If I was further south it would be Jimmer. Your call mate.

Welcome to the club.

U say a few major issues :scared:

Maybe some of the members on here can help.

No harm in asking.

People on here generally travel decent distances for the right garages who specialise in these cars, there are essentially only 2, PowerZed and LA Autos. Me for example, I've been using Jimmer @ PowerZed for 12 years now and couldn't rate him highly enough. Very reasonably priced especially considering his skill level and qualifications; his knowledge and attention to detail is right at the top.

Are Automodz not rated on here then?

 

Just curious, like I say, I do my own work but always like to know who knows what they're doing if you ever get stuck/need a second opinion.

The following two garages are used by many members and have good reputations, LA Autos (Lee Dent) and Powerzed (Jimmer) the later being the only 300zx specialist in the country now.

Zcentre certainly had a preferred mechanic that they recommended, they in themselves are a parts supplier though.

Other people have done work focusing on 300zx's with very variable results.

Many members here have been stung by "experts" learning on thier cars and at times causing more harm than good. So it's highly recommended to use a trusted and experienced specialist as your average garage won't have the ability to carry out the work. A specialist has the short cuts and tooling to do the job the best way and will often be no more expensive. Make of this what you will but careful who's hands you put your car in, make of this what you will.
