Thanks, will try and get some proper pics up when I get it washed, I did have 265 as a tester and it used to catch sometimes only because it low at the back

I was just going to say......

Maybe your offsets are not optimised for the 10J

255 is on the rather small end of 10 inch wheels.

....This!!

I had 17 inch Azev As on my old red Zed; running 255/40/17 on the rear. However the rears did sit a noticeable distance further out than my current wheels do - so had I lowered that Zed, then they would definitely have fouled on the arches!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Mines been lowered with a nice set of Azevs fronts are 8.0 225/40/18 and the rears are 10.0 255/35/18 I wouldn't go pass 255 width at the back if it's sitting low other wise it will catch, here's a picture of mine not the best angle

Still love those Azevs.....

With your rim sizes mate, you'd still get a 265 on the rear - my Zed is slightly lowered on Meister-R coilovers and I run 235/40/18 fronts plus 265/35/18 rears; without issues!

Firstly, that's a lovely looking Z you have there [emoji106]

Secondly, advice of tyre/wheel fitment based on widths alone with no information of offset is meaningless and could cause someone an expensive mistake. Another 10J wheel with 255 tyres and a different offset would sit differently in the arch.

I'm just politely pointing that out.

Yup - I agree entirely Joel....

.....My old Azevs would certainly have given issues....

Agreed,

I ran the same sizes as you on exactly the same Asev wheels on my original red slicktop.

As Joel has said this is all idle and useless speculation without the wheel widths and offsets as well as diameter, you're gearing up for a potentially costly mistake! I've got 275's on my 9.5" rear wheels with an offset of 35 and they don't catch so long as it's not lowered too much and even then only when there's someone in the back, wouldn't catch at all if I just took my 5mm spacers off to make them 40 offset or got the lip rolled.

Like someone else said the dimensions will be stamped on the wheels somewhere.

Just remembered the fronts are 8.5 not 8.0 my mistake but any way I bought these rims off another Zed, I had them refurbed with new rear tyres fitted and not had any issues with the way it drives, handles and no rubbing issues any where else, can't remember the offset but the rear do stick out a bit than my last rims as they where 9.5 but now 10.0 but my rear tyre sets very close to the rear arch line as it's been lowered but never rubs which is a very good thing so I'm lucky there, so can't go wider than 255 due to being that low

Got my tyres fitted and ended up with Pirelli P zero's, 235/45/17,they should be nice and sticky and hold the road well, just can't wait to get them on the zed now.

They look very nice indeed.......but 235 wide rear?? That is narrower than a stock UK 300ZX???

This is the size of tyre that was on the car originally Pete, got the BBS alloys with the car, I went with the advice of the tyre fitters about sizes, that is what I was asking weather I could co wider on the back, but when I went to order the tyres the guys at the gargde said I'd be better sticking with the same size tyre all round,( cars an import not uk )
