I don't use My Herpes at all, but have had some stuff delivered via their strange parceltogo system. Not totally sure how it works, but what I do know is they're utter crap. Last week I was due a delivery from a forum member. Showed it was delivered, only it wasn't was it. The signature wasn't even mine and I asked all the neighbours. NADA! about 3 days later I get a knock on the door with my parcel. It had been delivered 2 roads down. The roads are CLEARLY sign posted, you can't get it wrong.

'Oh well' I thought.

Had another delivery from an eBay member who also used this service yesterday. The lump of smeg who delivered this parcel (which was full of electronics) sought fit to put it in the back garden out in the pouring rain in a ripped bag. What 'tard does this? I know, one that works for My Herpes.

Suggestion : everyone should avoid My Herpes.

Hmm I've never had a problem with it and have sent plenty of parcels with car parts out.

I frequently use Parcels2Go to arrange various size deliveries and just used My Hermes for the ECU sold here...it was delivered and signed for on time, although i'm sure it was only for the fact i had everything crossed and included the insurance as I also have had big issues with them on delivery in and out before.

Mind you that said, it is only for My Hermes that we are now getting real competition in the parcel freight business and I have had more issues with UPS than any other courier, personally I find DPD the best all round.

Hope the contents were all ok?

Pretty sure they used to be called Yodel and they were even worse. MyHermes aren't a very good employer from what I understand, one of those 0 hours, "self employed" guff companies that need to be regulated out the market.

I've had my hermes bend 2 amplifers on me. I ALWAYS buy full insurance now!!

But you get duffers from any courier. Amazon left a parcel in a bin for us recently and didn't even leave a note, it's only by luck that we saw it. And royal mail put stuff in our porch without even bothering to ring the bell first, watched them do it

Ive never had a problem with myhermes. I always insure it to full amount or slightly over, but never had a problem. Ive had more problems with TNT and Parcel Force.

my ex wife was given a start with Yodel. that afternoon at 3 pm a huge load of parcels came to our address , she had no training didint know the area well, and had to get them all out before 7 pm ..at that time some people arent home, neighbours wont accept the parcels , and the crap she got off some people was disgusting, .....we had to sort the parcels into bundles so we could efectively deliver them.....we were out till 9pm with the ones that had to be delivered that day no exception..i knocked on one door at 8:40 ..what effing time do you call this he said to me ....wrong thing to say after the night and day id had ..plus im nigh on 16 stone and nasty when i want to be ...i politley explained the situation to him and asked if he wanted to eat his parcel or have a parcel enema .....both of which he declined ....as he hadnt signed the docket for accepting i took the parecl back with me to my car drove off and returned it to sender ......its not the employees its the company they are not regulated and only offer zero hours contracts ...they should all be banned....my wife and i decide it wasnot for her and she walked away the next day from that god awful thankless job.....its not the Post Office dont get confused with the level of service.....one is a business the other is amoney making sausage machine with no conscience.

Depends on the guy delivering I'd say, you get dead heads working every job. A delivery man won't be the sharpest tool in the box either which is why he is a delivery man in the first place

In my experience it is very much down to the delivery person - some are caring and considerate others less so.

I've found DPD to be the service I have most confidence with. The live tracking of the parcel through their network and

that of the delivery driver on their round is very convenient plus the time slot for delivery is surprisingly accurate.

This I believe is not a unique experience. There's some hubbub on them at present, apparently they have a liking for zero hour contacts and anyone who dares to stand up for themselves isn't offered any more hours.

As far as I'm aware Yodal and Hermes pay the delivery people on "per parcel delivered" basis. I know that the

woman who used to deliver parcels to my home said she got 50p per parcel delivered and typically had over

100 parcels a day to deliver. She paid her own car's running costs. Long days for not a lot of pay.

It was delivered on time, but It wasn't signed for by me.

It was left outside my door, underneath a mop bucket to waterproof it! Luckily it was still there and dry when I got home.

I've had hermes "lose" a pair of brake calipers before, A 10Kg package that was tracked into their sorting system and then apparently never emerged from it.

Suffice to say I dont really use them anymore either.

However, that's not to say they are any better or worse than any others. I live at the very end of a cul de sac and my "front" door is actually at the back of the house, so it's pretty quiet,

Doesn't matter who its sent with they all leave stuff in my bins, or recycling boxes, even the postman leaves stuff wedged between the bin and the fence all the time.

I've come home to pairs of tyres just sat outside my door, and the wheels currently on my Z were left in a stack and "hidden" behind wheelie bins, the guy had even gone to a neighbours and pinched a third bin to try and hide them behind...

I know a domestic air conditioning engineer who delivers part time for extra cash...he is very sharp and a lot sharper than most too..

Indeed there are 100 reasons why people do these kind of jobs. I've met some incredibly intelligent people who simply don't want the rat race anymore, need flexible hours for care or simply cannot find work in thier field at present. I used to know a banker that had a break down at 30 and had to "retire" he does a part time bar job for something to do. Also we all have to do shit jobs at some point, I'd rather work than claim benefits and if you get made redundant these days a new job isn't instant, especially a good job. I worked nights stacking shelves and the lunch shift in a restaurant doing about 80 hours a week with no days off a few years back now. I'd been made redundant and needed cash to clear debt acquired from that. People in low paid jobs may actually be smarter and wealthier than the people who look down on them but most importantly they are working which is a damn site better than many in society these days.

My mate is having an issue with them at present. Ordered a Weber Carb from an English based company. Carb was coming from Italy.

Carb arrived from Italy, transferred to Hermes, wasn't delivered, despite the tracking showing its been "out" for delivery for 4 days.

Carb was refused delivery by a person called "Joe" in Portugal 3 days ago ! Portugal !!! For some reason the tracking number is now obsolete !!

He paid with Paypal to the English based company and they are saying its not their problem ?? WTF ?

Alan.............

The company is fine, most of the drivers are good as well.

But there are a few bellends like in any job.

Your area must have one lol.

What makes things worse is drivers have to attempt delivery three times for each customer but only get paid for first attempt , this is why you see alot of parcels dumped inside bins behind plant pots over side doors under cars the list goes on , parcels signed for by driver and left in porch etc and neighbours been asked to take in parcel

hermes and yodel require driver to make 3x delivery attempts for each parcel but only pay once and expect driver to leave there own personal tel number on back of calling card thats why you find a lot of blank cards posted or none at all

what that driver did is wrong and parcel shouldn't of been left like that .
