Just home from a 600 km round trip to go fetch this:innocent::whistling:

1989 Factory manual TT SWB!!

It's missing a few bits and has some rust, also has a "Noddy and Big Ears" themed engine bay:scared::thumbdown:

IMG_5425.jpg

Was running before it had its gearbox, diff, drive shafts, brakes and exhaust stripped off it:whistling:

Needs a bonnet, new trims, and some paint and bodywork, but it'll be a work in progress.

Have to wait and see how I get on, figured I have a fair few spare bits from the other car lying around, so might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb!! :thumbup1:probably struggle with it but at least it'll keep me occupied for a bit:thumbup:

I should have an old rubber boot for the rear wiper if you want it. Turned out the leak was from my spoiler so it's probably fine!

3M Fast Cut Plus with a coating of Zymol Cleaner Polish and a final coat of Harley Wax:thumbup1:. Unfortunately some donkey has painted the bumper and passenger wing in a purple/maroon to try and blend it in with the faded paint:scared::thumbdown:

Been busy at work so have done very little, spent TWO afternoons trying to remove ONE wheelnut :scared::thumbdown:

The previous owner had ragged the sh*t out of the car with only 2 wheel nuts on each wheel and the tyre tread facing the wrong way:scared:

Wheel nut was rounded out, so a hammer and chisel along with a drill and cobalt bits were required to remove it:thumbdown:

Fortunately for me, the guy that bought them came down with 3 of his friends and we all took turns to get it off:innocent:

Did a deal on the turbine wheels and a set of BF-Goodrich off-road jeep tyres and in return got these babies

Nice wheels mate :thumbup1:

Thanks Gaz, need a bit of a refurb, still not sure if they're going to suit but they're better than those old turbines and a set of Mud Terrains taking up space in the shed:yes:

Not sure whether to polish the centre's or go with a bronze, silver or gunmetal finish against the red??

What's happening with the Veilsides then?

Veilsides are going on the blue Z Steve:thumbup:

Did you manage to get the inside of the centres polished? Mine are in the process just now but got a quick picture I can put up once I remember how to do that! . Let me know if you need yours done.

Hi Bazz, got the Veilsides fully hand polished last year:thumbup:

Looking good!! As soon as the admin guys reinstate my member status I will put up a pic of my centres for you. Mine are being split ready to get wider lips fitted and a full polish at the same time. I need them to fill my rear arches so they will be circa 13" wide with 6" lips.. The guy I use could polish the back of your centres if you want him to.

Where are you getting this done and how much does it cost? I may be interested in the future.

Getting Veilside Wheels split and fully refurbed by a local polisher who does loads of sets of splits for VWs etc. I am sourcing lips through JDM distro who I believe get them from California. Cost is all down to what you want done and how much work is involved. Lips for example are about £180 each, bolts can be about £150.

I've sent a centre off to be replicated without the big nut in the middle:whistling::thumbup:

Been a while, tonight I received my new rear brake caliper project:innocent:

Will take me a while to piece together, but these will be stripped down, powdercoated and rebuilt for the red Zed.

Same as my rears on the blue Zed

Hopefully they'll come out similar:thumbup1:

I've had a set of Veilside Andrews.

The only reason why I kept mne was because of fitment issues, every car I've owned in the last 10 years have had 4 pots and with the flat backs and quite high offsets, meant that fitment was a mile off, I prefer not to do spacers.

Look mint polished though mate

Back at the Redzer project, had a root around my parts shed and found a perfect condition instrument cluster binnacle with perfect pods, whipped off the old setup and found the red switch wired into the light switch, spliced into the green / red and black wires

I hate those scotch locks, traced many electrical faults back to those. I never use them. Solder and heat shrink or heat shrink butt connectors with resin inside are very good inside and out.
