As some know, I'm often in the US either on holiday or some sort of Z Show whether it be one of the regional Midwestern shows or ZNationals. I was going to go to ZCon in San Diego in 2014 but timings were bad for me.

This year however I've just booked tickets to go to ZCON in Austin, Texas which is the middle of next month. ZCON is probably the biggest gathering of Z Cars at least in the United States and possibly the world and is sponsored by Nissan Corporate and a number of high profile tuning manufacturers and parts suppliers and to many considered the Mecca of Z events. It used to be attended by Mr.K before his passing a few years ago.

My main excitement is to meet Toshio Yamashita (aka Yama San) who will be doing a tech talk about the designing of the Z32. I'm super exited about this and have wanted to meet this chap for quite a number of years.

I was supposed to be driving a Datsun Fairlady Roadster from Dallas down to Austin, but that ride is currently not available, it's a car I've driven a number of times and is owned by the ZCCA Liaison Officer. So....I'll just have to rough it in a friend's Z32 TT.

We get to do a parade lap at the Circuit of the Americas which should be super cool!

I'll add photos to this thread if anyone's interested.

Made it out to my friends' place in Dallas and we're about to head up to Courtesy Nissan to meet some other friends before the drive down to Austin. Weather is perfect and hotter than in England (only just though)!

We're taking these 2 cars, both 91 model manual Twin Turbos. There'll be more photos later.

So, today I met Toshio Yamashita aka Yama San who was the chief designer of the Z32, R34 and S15. What an absolute honour this was and what a nice guy. Very interesting presentation about the design of the Z32.

I have also confirmed my attendance for next year's event which is hosted by Fairlady Alliance of Atlanta and Georgia Z Club it's also in conjunction with Znationals, so a double event. I'll be driving down from Columbus, Ohio with the ZCCA president.

I have a ton of photos which I'll upload soon.

I have here in my hand the centre arm rest underside from AndrewG's car which is now signed. :)
