My project car for summer 2017, a SWB 1989 300ZX NA Manual Targa Top JDM import in 2003. Has been stored for the last 7 years. Its at LA Autos now with Lee having everything sorted before a trip to the body shop. Chassis number 0928. I guess that makes her one of the first 1000 Zed 32's out the factory. Underneath is in exceptional condition and the motor only has 60K on it.

Twin Turbo engine going in I hope! :)

All in good time mate, I have to sell Purple Haze Si, once i have the funds I can then get a Twin Turbo in her. For now I am happy to get her running sweet, serviced and tidied up and have a play in her until i can drop a TT lump in. The original NA is in great nick and running sweetly.

Good luck Chris, look forward to seeing this.

It would be first 1,000 of the Z32 code but there were three other codes in production at the time.

OK, thats interesting, VIN # Z32-000928 . I assumed it would mean its number 928 off the shop floor, is that not strictly the case?

Z32 is the base code, add a G for 2+2 and add a C for TT. So that's four combinations for 1989.

It's number 928 of that model code.

Nice looking car must have been stored properly.

So, have you got 2 SWB NA's now?? As well as "Purple Haze"??

I wish, no Richie, I have Purple Haze still and the Red 89 SWB. The blue slicktop is my brothers car.

That makes sense now then :)

Best of luck with the new project Chris, looks to be a nice clean one:thumbup1:

I thought you had bought Ash's Z, good to see you're spreading the Z word to family and friends:thumbup:

Phase 1 sorted. Lee Dent has once again worked his magic and she just flew through the MOT. Having full wax oil and rust proofing finished this week and picking her up on Friday. To say I am excited is an understatement. Phase 2 bodywork coming up but I may play in her for a while first..... got a new job, new zed and life's good....roll on the summer. No major pressure to sell Purple Haze now so I can keep both lady's in my life.... for a while anyway....ha ha i got the Zed bug bad man....

Thanks man, We were all blown away when we got on her on the ramp Gaz, honestly, not a mark, all the sills are still true and the chassis rails undamaged, remarkable condition mate. I have been going over her history and she just pootled round London for a few years doing bugger all miles and then stored for the last seven years.... just trying to keep her as best i can, looking forward to some fun in her this summer....

Exceptional service at LA Autos yesterday. Picked up Project X and had a fantastic drive back from Shrewsbury to Bedford, car running superb and was a different driving experience altogether from Purple Haze. Thanks so much to Lee & Callum, the work Lee has done is top notch. Met up with Ian and Dave having work done on their motors as well, busy busy day for Mr Dent but all sorted in his usual jovial manner. So pleased with this new addition and looking forward to getting the bodywork done now. Cheers Lee

It's going to be different you've gone from a lazy auto to a manual with shorter gears. You wait till you put a turbo lump in there.
