Bit of help please.

I'm trying to find what I think is probably some sort of threaded grommet. As I've been putting my car back together I've found that where very rear edge of the front bumper attached to the wing (so the leading edge of the front wheel arch) I have nothing to wind a bolt into when you line up the bumper with the support bracket. The front bumper has been off for such a long time, I can't remember what should be there!

I know I could use a nut and bolt, but considering it's probably a very cheap part, I'd like to keep an OE fastener.

Does any one:

A) have the foggiest idea of what I'm talking about

B) have a picture of what I'm missing

C) a part number or link to said part

Cheers

Nick

You are correct it is a threaded grommet, i've bought a Toyota one for that location, mine too were missing.

I'll update later with a pic/more help if no one else furnishes you.

That attaches at the back of the headlight bucket to the side bumper support bracket, it also has some grommets in it for the arch liner screws.

EDIT: Sorry, it's the front bumper bracket support that attaches near the intercooler, there is another bracket support and that's the one i mention above with the liner grommets.

Joels photo is the correct item, for the first fitting at the edge of the wing.

I bought two of these when I fitted my Twinz bumper last year, at the time CZP had them labelled up incorrectly in their parts bin, and I kept getting sent a similar, but not the correct grommet. Finally go the correct parts after 2-3 weeks of emails and photos.

That's £7....so £3.50 each - I wouldn't even complain. It is was it is and really isn't that bad. You're starting to sound like Mondo. :wack:  ;) I bought these a few years ago. :)

No, it's $10.88 EACH, plus shipping. For a piece of plastic the size of fag butt, yet similar grommets for other parts of the car are $3 it's a bit of a rip off (not CZP's fault, it'll be Nissan setting the RRP)

A small price to pay regardless. Something that helps give you perfect panel fit is priceless in my opinion. I've stopped caring how much new OE stuff costs. It's worth every penny. I just bend over and take it. :)

Most parts have a high probability of going obsolete very soon, so I buy what I can. I have boxes of new OEM stuff sat in the drawers. Mainly nuts, bolts, fastenings and fixings.

If I want new bolts and things fitting to my Zed, I just have to leave it outside your house with the bonnet open....

I assume the part pushes through he hole in the wing and has a built in retainer or sorts?

I think this one just has the plastic which pops in one way, and then the screw threads into it

From memory Nick and looking at the photo it is just a push fit into the hole, as the back of the grommet is square and the hole in the return of the wing is also square that's how it stops from rotating when screwing it all together.

Snap-fit, very straight forward. You'll cut the old one off.

Unlikely, reason I asked for a picture of the part was because the bloody thing has called out at some point when I've have the front end apart in the last year or So :P
