Bored so I thought I'd try some experimenting........

Fitted the steering boss at long last for aftermarket wheel, also a slimline 'snap off' kit.

Half the trouble is usually getting the old wheel off!

Depends which boss kit you use.I used a generic one and it was a pain!-get a proper Hicas (if needed) one and it's really simple.

Getting the wheel off is a matter of hitting both sides of the wheel with the flat of your hands rapidly, they soon pop off.

My ZX is non Hicas anyway but I've got the HKB boss kit from Driftworks. Gives me something to do whilst I'm off

Lol! Gaz, sorry. Basically I'm installing guages, now Iv'e done the pillar pod and centre console mount route before so I thought this would be different.

I'm retrofitting a motorized flip up display into the top half of the stereo surround.

Done a bit of filling Today to lose the moulding lines ready to be painted, currently looks like this.........

This will motor up with the Acc position on ignition, now waiting for the bits to put in it!

Looks nice, what are the bottom holes for next to the clock?

Small push switches, one to to tilt the screen and one to close it when I don't want it up!

I sat in the drivers seat and gave mine a yank, I nearly punched myself in the face but it came off pretty easy.

Quick trial before the screen goes in

I love the idea and your creativity is inspiring, open the screen looks to be in a good position but closed, looks half ajar to me, it may be the angle or you havent finished perfecting it yet, but great job :thumbup1:

The left button for minor adjustment....well both actually, reminds me of the pop up sleepy eyes i fit to my MK1 MX5 about 10 years ago :thumbup1:.
