Posted December 22, 20168 yr Bored so I thought I'd try some experimenting........ Fitted the steering boss at long last for aftermarket wheel, also a slimline 'snap off' kit. Another Idea that I had a while ago, thought I'll give it a go........can you tell I'm bored Lol!
December 22, 20168 yr How was it fitting the boss kit? I'm going to be fitting mine sometime after Christmas but not done one before Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

December 24, 20168 yr Author How was it fitting the boss kit? I'm going to be fitting mine sometime after Christmas but not done one before Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk Depends which boss kit you use.I used a generic one and it was a pain!-get a proper Hicas (if needed) one and it's really simple. Getting the wheel off is a matter of hitting both sides of the wheel with the flat of your hands rapidly, they soon pop off.
December 24, 20168 yr Author Well Today I have chopped up my £140 double din surround! Hope this works Lol!

Gives me something to do whilst I'm off Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

December 26, 20168 yr Author Lol! Gaz, sorry. Basically I'm installing guages, now Iv'e done the pillar pod and centre console mount route before so I thought this would be different. I'm retrofitting a motorized flip up display into the top half of the stereo surround. Done a bit of filling Today to lose the moulding lines ready to be painted, currently looks like this.........
December 29, 20168 yr Author Finished the surround and now looks like this, Closed, Open, This will motor up with the Acc position on ignition, now waiting for the bits to put in it!
December 29, 20168 yr Author Looks nice, what are the bottom holes for next to the clock? Small push switches, one to to tilt the screen and one to close it when I don't want it up!

I sat in the drivers seat and gave mine a yank, I nearly punched myself in the face but it came off pretty easy.

December 30, 20168 yr I love the idea and your creativity is inspiring, open the screen looks to be in a good position but closed, looks half ajar to me, it may be the angle or you havent finished perfecting it yet, but great job :thumbup1:
December 30, 20168 yr The left button for minor adjustment....well both actually, reminds me of the pop up sleepy eyes i fit to my MK1 MX5 about 10 years ago :thumbup1:. Edited December 30, 20168 yr by phutumsch word 'sleepy' added
December 30, 20168 yr Love the creativity but I would need to have it closing flush, looks like it only goes half way?
