The rebuild has finally started today and so far in a few hours I've managed to completely strip the interior.

 

 

 

Next job on my list is to get both the bumpers, tailgate and bonnet off.

 

After that i'll work on the body panels and stripping down the engine.

Still waiting on a parcel from RM that should of been deliverd yesterday.!

Only ordered the Pistons from ConceptZ last night.

And they have arrived !

Just need to get them sealed back up in a bigger box with a few other bits to send down to Jim.

Long time coming, but we may have a documented road trip coming up.?

Do let us know when you're heading south, if I can meet you anywhere en-route, it would be nice to catch up before you head back over the wall ? 

Less than 2 weeks and i'll be heading down to Jimmer's again for collection of my engine.

Long time to wait out but worth it in the end.

Update, slot booked for the 17th and 18th March.

 

Its actually happening, getting exciting again.

Excellent news bet you can’t wait to get her on the road.

And its home !!

Finally after a long wait, the heart of my zed has arrived home ready to be fitted again.

Although she needs to sit patently in my L200 Truck for one more night.

 

Tomorrows plan is to get this offloaded from the truck and put on the engine stand ready for the rest of assembly.

Lots to do still before that happens as i need to get the plenum professionally cleaned and polished again.

Also need a new gearbox and EFI harness, which i'll post about separately.

It took a little bit of shuffling, but the engine has now been off loaded into the garage.

 

To get the engine to the garage we had to push the zed out first over the stones and out into the street.

Then I reversed the truck all the way to the garage to make it easier to get off the truck.

 

 

Time for some zed shots when its out in the sun, for the first time in a few years.

It’s been a long time coming seeing this beast on the road 💪

Few things needing done prior to dropping the build in.

And we have finally started sorting shit out for this engine.

Workshop is a bit of a mess but managed to clear a few area's to see things laid out.

Also missing a CAS, but along with a few missing bolts it may have been left behind at Jimmers.

Few bolts missing from whats needed but i'm sure they will show up.

Cleaned up all my turbo oil feed pipes

Trying to figure what goes where, i now seem to be missing the oil feed bolts 😞

Few hours tonight carefully assembling the turbos and pipes which are now fitted in the correct order.

Little cleanup of the fuel rail ready for fitting tomorrow.
