That was a close call with the opposing majority in Scotland and Northern Ireland nearly tipping the result. I wonder if Scotland will be rethinking another referendum now the deal has changed or whether they will ride the wave which could well lead to a more prosperous future?

With rumours of Holland following suit, a snowball effect of this result will be the best outcome for us I believe. The more big contributors that leave, the less powerful/wealthy the Union becomes (namely Germany and France as the top 2), leaving us in a stronger position.

This is EXACTLY the conversation I had with my father on the phone just now actually! We both wondered whether Scotland will have their own referendum for devolution in order to try to be accepted back into the EU.

I also fear for the borders, especially NI. NI will now border an EU state, many people from NI work in the republic and vice versa. Sinn Féin have talked about having NI as an annex which could spark unrest and see a return to the time when certain extremist groups created tension, this is something that's only just been fixed.

I think "fixed" is a bit of an exaggeration, but this certainly could have an effect on that whole situation.

My thought exactly. Have you started packing to return yet?

Ha ha, no need to pack just yet and if I had to coming back to the UK would not be my first choice, seriously worried for you guys, just heard on the news the Bank of England guy having a plan in place, then breaking news the UK has now lost its position as the fifth largest economy in the world....chaos on the markets Sterling in free fall jeez what a disaster.. those who voted out need to reflect on what they have started !!

It's a cluster**** and there's been NOTHING put in place to deal with this. Even Farage is renegading on his 'availability of funds for the NHS'. It's a nightmare come true. I fear for my mortgage, I fear for business in Europe and the rest of the world. The value of sterling is at the bottom of the pile and hasn't been this low in 30+ years.

Nothing to reflect on. The market has bulked at the decision but it's simply that a bulk, nothing has even been set in stone or even changed yet. I expect things to numb somewhat over the coming months. It's also worth pouring out the economical side of the decision was only one part of it. At the end of the day the 52% of the British public have decided it was the way forward.

The Dollar is sitting 7 cents less than it has been on and off for the last year! The FTSE market fell this morning to a low which didn't reach the stage it was two weeks ago and has now recovered to a level comparable with the last year and the Euro is strengthening to just 2 euros form it's level of the last 6 months... crash! nightmare scenario, I don't think so, the press are talking about a one day currency fall on the dollar to its lowest ever, but that's due to the FX markets inflating the dollar to 1.50 last night a level it hasn't been at for over two years.

There are uncertain times ahead, but Europe needed to wake up and it needs to return to a free trading market agreed between nations and not the ambition of an autonomous single president and government ruling un-elected as a head of all states. The UK is Europe's single largest trading partner, it will not levy trade against it but I think it will open the door to a new way of trading between countries as it used to be and should of been without all this upheaval.

Hi guys, some people I have seen commenting on social media need to calm down a little today. You would think that the world was coming to an end! I work closely with EU institutions from the UK base. It is in nobodies interest for the EU or UK to fall down, what we are seeing right now is the greedy traders speculating to leverage gains. The clear message coming out is business as usual. There will be a considered negotiation before UK makes a step. I am not liking the gloating by some of the out buys and girls or the accusations of the in crowd that everyone voting out was either small minded or even racist.

My job rests directly on some of what will come to its in my interest to be in the picture.

I do hope that this vote gets the country thinking seriously about what we want as a future and that we can unite to make our way in the world no matter what our backgrounds may be. I will be looking to see what opportunities this change brings. People automatically resist change its natural, it will be happening though so what small part we can play as individuals. To me there is a massive disconnect between our so called leaders and us. Either way I would still like to get back into a Z in the time to come. Don't let the press whip you up, Peace!

The fear sells though doesn't it.

This morning would have been a good time to buy some UK shares.

I don´t think the brits living actually in Costa del sol, Baleares Mallorca will think the same...lol

Which (hopefully) is exactly what our pension funds, ISA investment managers etc will do.... Buy now, when the price is at rock bottom, because values can only go up!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
