Right guys, just testing the water, who here would be interested in Big Brake kits?? I've got myself 6 piston Brembo fronts with 4 piston rears including brackets, hardware etc, they fit to the 370z 355mm fronts and 350mm rears discs, I can also source these. My contact reckons a group buy of 10 sets, I can source Porsche, AMG 8 piston and other large 6 and 8 piston fronts with 4 piston rears, haven't got a price as such yet, but would probably be close to £1500-£2k, these kits direct from Brembo and the likes retail at £3-£4K would anyone here be interested if I got the ball rolling???

Im guessing these wont fit with OEM wheels...

No mate, minimum of 18" wheels:thumbup1:

Mine have been shipped and should be here next week, I still have to get the discs, but I'll post up some pics asap

So this is just for the four calipers and mounting kits, yeah...?

I haven't got all the details just yet Si, but it would probably work out cheaper to buy the 370z discs in the UK rather than the US due to the weight, I was buying CZP's 2 piece fronts for $495 but the shipping for just the 2 discs was $177 plus duties, you can get Mtec, Tarox, EBC, APEC, Stoptech and OEM on eBay for anywhere from half to a third of the price in the UK with some doing free shipping, Mtec will do front and rear discs, drilled and grooved for just over £300 delivered:yes:

There's an assortment of combinations that can be used for the Z's, Porsche Cayenne 6 piston, AMG 8 piston, (I got Jeep SRT8 6 piston) and a few others from the Porsche, Merc range, most built by Brembo. The brackets are CAD designed and tested for strength, they do the front 6 /8 pots and rear 4 pots. Calipers are brand new unless otherwise stated. I'm awaiting a full price and breakdown of prices to see what is the best way to go on these, but I know he's cheaper for the Hardware (springs, pins, hoses and pads) than shopping around yourself as I've been researching my own parts and I can't come clos to his prices even in the US :thumbup1:

Interested what the rear combination and fitment is.

Rear is Brembo 4 pot, here's a pic to give you an idea:thumbup1:

This guy is running Z1 2 piece discs both front and rear, the discs can be OEM 370z's or the fancier (+expensive) 2 piece, 355mm front and 350mm rears.

Erm, those rear ones look... hilarious...! That was really the only way someone could think to mount them...?

I was thinking that they hung a bit low also, I'll try and find a pic with them fitted with wheels:thumbup1:

The guy with the yellow rear calipers used VW Toureg ones instead of the Jeep SRT8,s.

The rears are 4 pots from the rear of a jeep srt8, they're rear calipers and not fronts that have been thrown on, they're used in conjunction with both the 4, 6 and 8 piston fronts that are available for the Z.

The first pic rears don't seem to sit as low as the yellow ones?? Maybe that guy has run different rears??

I'm bedridden after my surgery last Monday, but as soon as I'm up and about, I'm finishing off my rear NA subframe and will bolt up the brakes and throw up some pics, hopefully in the coming weeks :thumbup1:

That is the problem with adapting axial mounted calipers to fit applications they were not designed for, the calipers are usually supplied as OEM

fitment by the caliper manufacturers for specific cars. Typically the caliper mounting lugs get in the way of the hub mounting lugs and you need

to offset the caliper to get enough space to fit, as in the case above.

For reference here is an axial mount caliper left vs radial mount right (which offers more flexability in mounting in bespoke applications).

He's doing brackets for Radial mount also, I'd say the pics above I guys trying things out themselves, I'll see if he can send me some pics of radial mounts fitted to Z's:thumbup1:

FYI my K sports F &R are both radial mount brackets

How much did the full front and rears cost Howard??

While these do look very tasty brake setups I think more attention needs to be given to bias setup than just looks.

I can see some serious braking issues occurring here otherwise.

I'm going to set mine up, I got a full setup front and rear from the Jeep srt8, the brake master cylinder is the correct size to run them properly and I can report back from there. As I've stated earlier, I'm awaiting further info regarding these kits but from what I've seen, there has been no negative only positive feedback from either the Supra, 370z, g37, 350z guys that are already running these setups. One of them had to slam on his brakes (emergency stop) due to a guy running a red light in the US and reckoned his brake setup saved him from being written off as he stopped a lot quicker than his standard system.

There's no problem if people don't want them, this was just a thread to see if there were any interested parties. He was going to do me a Group buy deal if people wanted them. I can get anything from just the bracket adapters to a partial or complete kit, people can source their own calipers and discs if they wanted, I myself have got the calipers, brackets and am going to get a set of pads, lines and pin kit off him as he's half the price of what I've found researching myself. The pin kit is $62 with the retainer Spring another $73 and that's just for the fronts from Mopar/Jeep. He can get me the full set for the front for $25, again front pads were coming in at $110-$160, he can source better spec for $75. Just an example, for you guys to mull over, I reckon my kit including what I've got and what I need to buy is coming in around £1500 using the Mtec drilled and grooved front and rear discs, it would be a few hundred more to go with Tarox or Stoptech, but that's for both the front and rear setup, I'd imagine even the k-sports would come in at twice that price never mind Brembo.

While these do look very tasty brake setups I think more attention needs to be given to bias setup than just looks.

Indeed. The tears are quite hefty. Compare this to the akemboko kit, or the Evo calipers etc and the rears are pretty big. My rears look pretty small in comparison to the front but the balance is about right.

It's worth pointing out these won't make you stop any quicker. Bigger brakes don't necessarily mean smaller stopping distances. The limiting factor within the stock brakes (if healthy) is grip, you can lock the fronts up without too much effort at which point your skidding or in ABS. The advantage of bigger brakes is the ability to do this repeatly without cooking them.

From others feedback, they give a smoother braking experience with more contol over slowing speeds, but let's face it, most go for the cosmetic appearance you get with them also, with the braking being a secondary rewarding factor.

How much did the full front and rears cost Howard??

The fronts (8 pots) with 356mm disks were £969.00 plus Bluestuff NDX pads £113.00 = £1082.00 (incl. VAT)

Rears (4 pots) with 330mm disk - £1016.40 including K Sport pads, pus Air freight £120.00 = £1136.40 (incl. VAT)

I did source front and rear Akebono brake callipers and disks for my car @ £750.00, (these were second hand from a 370Z with 16k on it) but alas the front callipers are so big they wouldn't fit behind my wheels, even with 20mm spacers! I would have still required the brackets from CZP or Z1 @ $380 IIRC but in my mind they were a bargain, and perfectly balanced/bias.

At one stage I did even consider changing my bloody wheels, but that would have meant even a bigger financial outlay.
