Anyone have pictures of the Z32 engine bay in Black, with a non-black body colour ?

I want to paint the engine bay when I pull the engine, and while Im 90% sure I will keep the body Bayside Blue, there is a small chance I could have a colour change. I dont want to paint the engine bay in Bayside blue, only to end up with a different exterior colour.

So....Black engine bays, probably like a satin black ?

That's my plan too... mostly because I don't want to take the engine out to paint the whole thing lol

Excuse the arrow. It also looks a little cleaner in here now as I've had all the painted engine parts all powdercoated with new OEM fasteners. Eventually it will go white, but I obviously need to do an engine haul if I'm going to do it properly and that'll have to wait for a while.

Thanks Si, It definitely looks better than any other non bodywork colour, but I'd still prefer body-colour. I did plan to get the car up and running again, then send off to bodyshop. Hence paint engine bay myself beforehand

That looks nice tbh, an engine pull to respray would be a pain.

Yeah, I do prefer body-colour engine bays. As you know with pearl and metallic painted Z32 engine bays, Nissan never put a mid or top coat to them. When I had my car painted, the engine bay just looked unclean, even after cleaning, so as a temporary fix, to smarten it up a bit, I did the bay black until such time as the engine needs to be removed. Unfortunately, Jimmer did such an amazing job of rebuilding the engine all those years ago, it hasn't needed to come out!

I'm 'considering' upgrading the turbos next year, so it will likely get done then. I want Power Enterprise turbos! :)

Only with white if you clean it with a toothbrush every week it will look sooty really quick.

Not especially. If you have good seals and headlight foams (I need to replace mine) and engine belly pans you should get very little in the engine bay - besides, I don't drive mine in the wet or in winter, so it's only fresh air that comes into the intakes.

S14s have black engine bays from the factory along with other Nissan models I should imagine!

Yes, black ones.

 very funny, you know what I meant. I know Ultimaterays pearl yellow one had a black bay. There was some suggestion it was originally a black car resprayed.
